Archaeologists are stumped after finding a 100-year-old Swiss watch in an ancient tomb that was sealed more than 400 years ago. They believed they were the first to visit the Ming dynasty grave in Shangsi, southern China, since its occupant's funeral. But inside they uncovered a miniature watch in the shape of a ring marked 'Swiss' that is thought to be just a century old.

Jack, is that you?
Actually, that hasn’t been posted yet, but next time I’m in Arizona...

Thanks SmartInsight and Outlaw Woman for the pings. I suspect the Swiss had something to do with this. Or maybe this is the Chinese watch alluded to in that Monty Python sketch. |

The Face of Boe has been a Freeper since late 1997 I think. The new Dr. is in his profile also.
There used to be a neat TV show, few years back, called “Journey Man” about a reluctant time-traveler who’s family, cop brother, and friends didn’t believe what was happening.
He ended up convincing his wife by taking her wedding and engagement rings and burying them underneath the location of their backyard pool during one of his trips decades into the past. When he got home he had her come out, watch as he took a pickaxe to the bottom of the pool, then pull out a lunch box with the rings and a current-day newspaper inside.
It was a great show, that went away far before its time.
There’s a place like that in the Wisconsin Dells as well (or at least there used to be — it’s been years since I was there). I always begged my Dad to go there when we were visiting, but never went. I’ve heard/read an explanation a long time ago, but can’t remember it now... (sorry!)
One in the Wisconsin Dells too, but I can’t remember the name of it. Now I’ll have to go and look it up to see if it’s still there (last time I in the Dells was a good 20 years ago).
Maybe just a pack rat.

Mystery Spot Vanishes, A Mystery Road Is Born?
Since 1952, the southern approach to the Wisconsin Dells/Lake Delton, Wisconsin, tourist mecca has been guarded by The Wonder Spot, one of many mystery spots scattered across America. Discovered in 1948, The Spot is nestled in the woods south of the lake, conveniently only about a half-block off of Hwy 12. Its powers were strongest in The Wonder House, a clapboard shack “where the laws of natural gravity seem to be repealed,” according to The Wonder Spot's brochure.
NOTE: There is a live link there for other locations of "Mystery Spots" around the country...
I watched it. One of the shows I still miss.
Ah, Nully... I love Callahan’s! I accidentally bought Callahan’s Key a second time when it was re-released last year bacause I thought it was a new one. (sigh) LOL
If you haven’t read The Free Lunch, go check it out, great story.
Until it got blown up with a pony nuke.
The new place is in the keys, named "The Place because It's Time"
Lordy I am such a geek. :-)

I was thinking the same.
They look identical to me, does everyone else see different sizes?
