Florida GOP Senate candidate Marco Rubio got himself into hot water with conservatives when he argued that Arizonas new illegal immigration law went too far and could possibly turn Arizona into a police state.
Does he still feel the same way now that state legislators have amended the law to address concerns about civil liberties? We certainly wanted to know and more importantly, so did you. In a HUMAN EVENTS exclusive, Rubio spells out his position on the controversial statute and also discusses his views on amnesty.
The transcript of my interview with Rubio is below. And be sure to come back tomorrow for my colleague John Gizzis interview with him. Its good stuff. John asks Rubio what Americas relationship with Cuba should be moving forward, especially when Fidel and Raul kick the bucket.

We already live there. Have you not noticed???
LOL!
Yeah, that's what I thought. You're full of crap.
Rubio doesn't support amnesty, and he's no RINO.
Read his actual words and support the man. No, he's not perfect, but he's worth it!
?????
Zero’s father was born here and he’s still in the Oval Office.
No, it means he's giving a complete and intellectual answer to a serious and complicated problem. But, too many people - including people here on FR - don't want that. They only want to consume bumper-sticker soundbites, especially those that are fed to them by the liberal media.
Rubio is excerpted by the LSM, and the intended consequences are seen in the knee-jerk reactionaries - "Rubio is RINO", rings out in some conservative circles, and the LSM says to themselves, "Mission Accomplished".
Don't fall for it. Rubio is an orthodox conservative who is addressing a sensitive issue in a state with a substantial Hispanic population. I'm sorry you, and others, aren't sophisticated enough to understand that.
Does he absolutly say he is against ‘comprehensive reform’. That is a trick for Amnesty.
mark
Ah, now you know the issue isn’t with whether we’ve seen a real birth certificate or not, but that his father wasn’t born here so is automatically disqualified to be POTUS.
Yep, definitely not sophisticated; don’t claim to be, don’t try to be. Thanks for confirming.
Still doesn’t change the fact that he’s admitting to knowing of illegal actions and looking the other way. Still doesn’t change the fact that I will probably vote for him as the lesser of the evils unless someone conservative magically shows up.
I live in Florida, so I know all about this “sensitive” issue and I for one am F’in sick of it being a sensitive issue.
When you realize that you are in a hole, the first thing you should do is stop digging.
And no matter how far down the wrong road you go turn back.
It'll take a lot for you to dig your way out of the mess you've made for yourself.
Yep. We're all going to vote for Crist unless you "dig your way out"!
Speak for yourself, Toto. I live in Kansas. Are you suggesting Rubio hasn't made things more difficult for himself?
It is interesting that folks who do not live in states heavily populated with illegals, really do not understand the problem.
The citizens of Arizona demanded and their legislature and Governor delivered.
We Floridians will choose our candidates for Governor a State Legislature carefully as we also want to strengthen the existing immigration laws here in Florida. We will take care of what the Federal Government will not.
Anyone who calls for a path to citizenship should be sent to an asylum, we ALREADY have one. A million as year go through it, by the book, legally.

I got the impression from his comments that he agrees with what you said.
me too
Ping!
He has been saying that from the get-go! Politico misrepresented his views! (Color me surprised!/s)
Being imperfect doesn’t make a candidate a RINO.
Reagan granted amnesty, and despite this mistake, was the best POTUS in modern history.
In FL, you got Rubio, Crist and Meek. No contest. Support Rubio.
Right. Will do. No other option.
