Florida GOP Senate candidate Marco Rubio got himself into hot water with conservatives when he argued that Arizona’s new illegal immigration law went “too far” and could possibly turn Arizona into a “police state.”
Does he still feel the same way now that state legislators have amended the law to address concerns about civil liberties? We certainly wanted to know – and more importantly, so did you. In a HUMAN EVENTS exclusive, Rubio spells out his position on the “controversial” statute and also discusses his views on amnesty.

Rubio did this weeks ago on Hannity although many here decided to ignore his explanation and decided to stick with the drive-by’s sound byte.
“Well, we have a path for citizenship. It’s called coming legally into this country.”
I think Mr. Rubio gets it. I wish more of our political types did.
Just enforce existing laws.

I have no issue with what he said.
Anyone who calls for a “path to citizenship” should be sent to an asylum, we ALREADY have one. A million as year go through it, by the book, legally.
Yes, Rubio’s position is actually quite good, and is referencing the federal government’s failure. This is the right problem...and also relates directly to his aim to be elected to the US Senate where he can have an impact.
My only fault in his comments is his initial comment of overreach in AZ. It was a little too kneejerk, but the rest is A-ok with me.

That being said, I’m glad Rubio clarified his earlier statements, as I think he will be good for Florida. Unless something terrible comes out about him before the election in November, he’s got my vote.

Rubio is no RINO.
I’ll admit he is not perfect. He may not even walk on water.
In any case, if he can, he won’t teach me how to do it. And that refusal/inability will cost me this summer when I have to use a flats boat instead of walking up on those bonefish.
Rubio just refuses to be perfect.

Most of the ones who decided to ignore Rubio’s explaination are Crist backers. Anyone else has a clear enough head to listen to what he said.
I will not vote for anyone who is for amnesty in any form.
If Florida loses Rubio as a Senator, America loses a great man who could become a great President.

His parents weren’t born here, not a natural born citizen, therefore disqualified from being president.
OK. Show us where Rubio supports amnesty.

Anyone who lets the MSM use them to denounce AZ fighting it...I guess that is supporting it.

Rubio is right on here. If you are doing something which requires a police check or summons or arrest, they SHOULD check citizenship status - not otherwise.
Right now those idiots in Congress are looking at ANOTHER misguided piece of legislation - S1317, which will allow the government to violate our Second Amendment Rights under the veiled pretense of making us safer against terrorism.
Be VERY VERY careful of giving the government too much power.
The Arizona Law as presently executed is a good one because it does not authorize the cops to stop people and demand papers unless they are being arrested or given a summons, etc.
I like Rubio.
He is a Great American.
