MORGAN HILL (CBS 5) ― Click to enlarge1 of 1 CBS
numSlides of totalImages On Cinco de Mayo, five Morgan Hill high school students came to school in red, white and blue, and got a very public lesson in school politics and free speech.
The boys came to Live Oak High School on the Mexican holiday, wearing t-shirts, shorts and shoes emblazoned with American flags.
Around 10 a.m., the assistant principal told sophomore Matthew Dariano he had to remove his bandana, which is against school policy.

Excellent idea! Viva la Dos de Februaro!!!
If you get paid in dollars, you speak English and honor American holidays.
If you want to celebrate mexican holidays, go to mexico and get paid in pesos.
#%&* you illegal mexicans
Have a picture of the annexed Western US in an American Flag design with the motto "Viva la Dos de Februaro" underneath.
Pass them out at Tea Party Rallies.
Start a movement to make it a US Holiday.
In February the fire risk from fire works would be at a minimum.
Does anyone know where the heck Morgan Hill is?
I mean, I suppose there are a few folks here who live in or near Morgan Hill, so they know. But there are probably a lot of us here - like myself - that couldn’t even tell you (and certainly would not be able to surmise from anything in the article) which time zone Morgan Hill is in — let alone what state.
???????
We WON the Mexican War. If we hadn’t fought it. about 25% of the continental U.S. would be Mexico.
The problem is the corrupt Mexican government dumping its economic problems in America; that economic baggage sending American Money back to Mexico, taking American Jobs, creating crime here, and bankrupting our social service network; corporations and businesses employing this cheap labor; and the Democrat Party using them for illegal votes.
ping for later

In April at a TPX III rally I met someone that was handing out great bumper stickers for FREE! She gave me their card and I just went there and left a message. If they decide to accept this mission, I will let you know.
Yes, you’re right.... I didn’t have my coffee jolt yet while voicing my opinion
Thanks for the mapquest link.
The point of my inquiry was that it would be nice when reading a story on a thread on FR, if the story cites a location more obscure than “Los Angeles” or “Chicago” or “Phoenix” etc. it might be nice to be able to tell where the place is without having to go to Mapquest or someplace else.
Sure, people who live in the Bay area would probably recognize the town name. And people from other parts of California might recognize it as well. Maybe even people from Oregon would be familiar with Morgan Hill for some reason. But there is a whole lot of territory across this country that wouldn’t recognize the location of a suburb of San Jose by its name. While I was guessing it was probably California just by the sheer stupidity of the officials, it would have been nice to have confirmation of that without having to go to another site to research it.
Saying what? Thank you for legalizing my parents and opening the flood gates to more invaders?
You’re right. I went back and looked at the article, and there were no indications of which state Morgan Hill is in. If, for example, the article had been linked from the San Jose Mercury News, that would have been a helpful hint.
Since I grew up in the South Bay, I was very familiar with the town and its location - I’ve driven through there more times than I care to remember.
Not really. Kwanza is a pseduo-new-age-new-world-theology holiday. Cinco de Mayo is the “celebration” of the Mexican army defeat of the French attempting to capture Puebla during the Franco-Mexican war.
