Brian Maloney gives us this entry for the Someone Left the Irony On Department, in which Contessa Brewer tells Stephanie Miller that she’s really unhappy that she couldn’t use the Times Square bombing attempt to prove Tea Party “bigotry.”

Never mind that this clip shows the bigotry of Brewer in relation to conservatives — that all of the opponents of Barack Obama and the Democrats are somehow the equivalent of the Hutaree militia in Michigan. Brewer really wanted a way to smear conservatives, and now she’ll just have to wait a little longer:

Soooo, she doesn’t want to convict him before it’s time to do so... but she doesn’t have a problem stating for a fact that the Hutaree Militia was planning to create terror.

I’m sorry, did I miss the news article that had convicted them?

Is there a donation box for that Hutaree group to pay for a lawyer to sue the hell out of this dumb witch?

I showed this to a liberal friend here in the office and he said he saw nothing wrong with what she said.

So I reminded him that there does seem to be a lot of people who want to “justify writing off people who believe in a certain way” and that's just how he and his fellow leftists beleive regarding Tea Partiers. He said I had a good point. Score one for sanity.

The Huttarees were released without bail pending trial by the judge, indicating exactly how “dangerous” they were. They sound like nuts, I agree, but there is obviously no evidence that they were planning terrorism. In fact, IIRC, I don’t believe the Feds were even able to claim that they found illegal weapons there. It was all a media event.

Also forgotten in the shuffle is the fact the Huttarees were supposedly “turned in” by a Muslim who had overheard “anti-Muslim” remarks and that CAIR was one of the first groups to whom the arrests were revealed and the first group to rush out with congratulatory statements.
