No he wasn't trespassing and he was never charged. He was on the public right of way. He did damage someone elses property. I know him and he is a good guy and a vet. He just lost it when he saw the situation.

The sidewalk is public property, so he wasn’t trespassing. He could be charged with theft or vandalism, but that’s about it.
