An event set for June 5 on the campus of Wilkes Community College, featuring speeches by former first lady Laura Bush and former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, has run into planning difficulties, WCC trustees were told last night during a meeting at the college's North Wilkesboro Center...
WCC officials were initially told to expect between 5,000 and 8,000 people, but that that anticipated attendance has grown to 30,0000 (sic) or 40,000...
Hagaman told board members that covering everything needed to address such a huge crowd "would require a Herculean effort for (BRERG) to pull this off safely and successfully by June 5."...

they’re gonna need a bigger stadium!
:^) Gee, I wonder why such a huge crowd is anticipated? Could it be people are hungry for integrity and courage?
What idiots thought Sarah Palin and Laura Bush, two of the most beloved public figures in the US, would only attract five to eight thousand people?
(((PING)))
This is Great...
I have family in that area of NC and know that campus, it’s not very large. In perspective the Merle Watson Festivle draws around 15K but is spreadout over 15 or so acres. That area of NC is Palin country and actually will draw from the Triad and Boone/Blowing Rock ares so yeah I’m not suprised at the expected turn-out.
Might have to think about working local connections for tickets.
NC
Compare that to the maybe 1000 people who turned out to see Barack in Florida yesterday. His star power is fading.
I kind of like the thirty ten thousand number, it rolls off the tongue.
Leftist DemoRats nationwide have soiled their pants once again at the soaring popularity of Sarah Palin with the classiest First Lady since Nancy at her side.
30,000 + coming to see Sarah Palin and Laura Bush, but but, I thought the media said that they are both irrelevant
Wilkesboro is a small town.
Too many people??
If libs are in charge of WCC it provides an excuse to cancel the event.
I just think its awesome that now they are expecting between 30 and 40,000 people to come. I wonder if the media will report the correct numbers..LOL yeah right, the media reporting anything right..I made a funny..either way, those who are lucky enough to attend, please give us a report
Blame it on Bush!
That’s a snag? I’ll bet Barack Hussein Obama would love to see a few snags like that.
WCC is run by your typical lib academia types. With nearby App State you get spill over of course. Still this is a strongly conservitive area nationally. Local politics are still controled by southern democrats and has a fair amount of corruption going on from both parties.
Sounds like they had better get busy on their Herculean effort!
