Last Friday night, Allee Bautsch, the chief fundraiser for Louisiana's Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal, was violently assaulted, along with her boyfriend, outside of a famed New Orleans restaurant. Initial reports on the incident were murky, but Yahoo! News has learned that the attacks appear to have been politically motivated.

Her leg was broken in five different places according to the FOX news interview with the victim's mother. It would be inconceivable to be attacked with such brutal force, then while still in shock from the attack make something up like this.

>The incident took place outside the high-end French Quarter eatery Brennan’s, where the Louisiana Republican Party was holding a fundraiser to coincide with the Southern Republican Leadership Conference happening in New Orleans that weekend. According to a bulletin put out by the New Orleans Police Department, the fight began around 10:45 p.m., when a group of three to five men made “derogatory comments” of an undisclosed nature to Bautsch about her boyfriend, Joe Brown. When Brown “turned toward” the men making the remarks, he was hit by at least one of them. The report notes that Bautsch “fell to the ground and screamed” and suffered a broken leg when she “attempted to break up the altercation.”<

Megan Kelly just had a segment on her show about the beating.

GREAT! That will get the ball rolling on FNC hopefully... sorry I missed it (TV is in another room and muted).

I'm also really sorry we missed each other at yesterday's Hartford Tea Party. Unfortunately we could only stay about an hour, but I was looking specifically for you, Biggirl and RaceBannon... oh well.

More.

http://patdollard.com/2010/04/breaking-exclusive-new-orleans-beat-down-update-via-my-interview-with-the-nopd/

UPDATE: I just had another very interesting conversation with Governor Jindal’s press secretary Kyle Plotkin. He was friendly and helpful, up to the point where I began pressing him with questions as to how he knew that neither Allee or Joe had been wearing Sarah Palin pins. Was he there? Did they tell him? He refused to say how he knew, and in fact refused to answer any questions about the incident whatsoever, except to very emphatically repeat, about a dozen times, “They were NOT wearing Palin pins!” , especially after I told him about Rantburg’s post of today, citing an unnamed witness who absolutely contradicted the Governor’s position about the pins. He also asked me for information as to how to get to the Rantburg post, and I gave it to him. He then emailed me the Governor’s statement of two days ago, above which he wrote:

Pat – Our full statement is below. I want to reiterate that we are not aware of any evidence that the individuals involved in the altercation were protestors (sic). And again, I also want to point out that they were NOT wearing Palin pins.

Full statement:

Friday night, the Governor’s campaign fundraiser, Allee Bautsch, and her boyfriend were involved in an altercation in the French Quarter with a group of people.

While there were protestors around at that time, we are not aware of any evidence that the individuals involved in the altercation were protestors.

Allee’s leg was badly broken in the incident, she has had surgery, and she is facing a recovery time of two to three months. Her boyfriend had a concussion, and also a fractured nose and jaw. They are both expected to fully recover.

NOPD is investigating the incident and we are refraining from further comment to allow them to fully investigate and ensure justice is done. Our prayers are with Allee. She is a strong person and we are sure she will make a speedy recovery.

Why all this obsession with denial about the pins, is beyond me. I can only speculate that Governor Jindal is quite passionate about the truth, and/or quite passionate about the fuse of the powder keg of this country not being lit in his state, at least not at a time when front line elements of the warring parties are still co-mingling in the French Quarter.

the man is instigating all of this by not acting as a president should do but instead he seems to want to be the rat leader and not the leader of the country

Hi nutmeg!

So sorry I was not able to meet up with you and your husband, so many people at the rally yesterday. I do hope you can come to the one in July 4th, 2010, which I had heard from Bell at the chatroom this morning, which will be by “we the people”. Hope you and your husband will come. I will not be helping the Hartford Tea Party Patriots that day.

The sad thing is this will not get all the press it deserves. We have a few wackos say some nasty names to some Democrats and it is all over the press.

That would work, how much did you pay for it if you don’t min me asking? I wish I could carry my Sig P245 with 8rds of .45acp but it’s a bit to big for pocket carry.

Yes, I really looked around for you! We managed to find Jim Vicevich awhile after his speech, and my husband actually went up to him and gave him a "man hug" LOL! I hope that was OK by Jim... I had NO idea he would do that.

I heard bellringer but couldn't find her either. Unfortunately we were only there about an hour and 15 minutes. Wish we could have stayed for the whole event.

I didn't hear about the July 4th 2010 rally. Is it at the State Capitol again? In one way I like the July 4th date, but on the other hand, I don't think many will attend... that's usually a pretty busy day for family picnics and vacations. Not sure if they'll get good turnout.
