Hows that Hopey-Changey working out for you? Two weeks after finally getting his ObamaCare agenda item signed into law, Barack Obama has reaped the reward of pushing a deeply unpopular bill through Congress. A new CBS poll shows Obama dropping to his lowest approval rating in their survey yet, down to 44% (via JWF):
Last week, President Obama signed historic health care reform legislation into law but his legislative success doesnt seem to have helped his image with the American public.
The latest CBS News Poll, conducted between March 29 and April 1, found Americans unhappier than ever with Mr. Obamas handling of health care and still worried about the state of the economy.
President Obamas overall job approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 44 percent, down five points from late March, just before the health bills passage in the House of Representatives. Its down 24 points since his all-time high last April. Forty-one percent of those polled said they disapproved of the presidents performance.
CBS hasnt released the raw data yet on the poll. They want to wait until tonights news broadcast to unveil some of the other results from the poll. That cant be good news for the White House, since the big hit on the approval rating will very obviously be their lead on the story. We do know, however, that this poll surveyed the general adult population, not registered or likely voters, a sample that should have been more sympathetic to Obama.
Two issue approval ratings did get released this morning, and both show even worse approval ratings for Obama on key issues. He hit a new low on health care, with only 34% approving of his job performance. Small wonder Obama has taken to campaigning again for health care; hes getting buried by it. Obama might do better to change the subject, but the next most pressing issue is another which Americans dont like the job hes doing. He only gets 42% approval on the economy, sinking closer to his all-time low of 41% in January.
A drop of five points since the bill passed should show Republicans that the best way to win the next two elections is to promise to repeal ObamaCare. For Obama, the best strategy might be to quit talking about it and start looking for ways to really rebuild the economy rather than indulge himself in progressive agenda wish lists for government programs, which have done nothing so far except delay the recovery.
Oh jeeezzzz I am STILL laughing.
That is the funnest thing on FR so far this year!
Listen! Do you hear that? Yes, that irritating sound that never seems to go away. If you hear that, you may be suffering through another daily Messiah speech.
See your Free Republic resource immediately to get relief.
I don’t see very many Obama stickers any more on Silicon Valley freeways. Most of the ones I do see are from Santa Cruz.
Ohhh, that is the best ever. It takes in all aspects of this dopey pres..ent. Send it to Rush.
historically how far off is CBS polling?
This is like the university or law professor who takes pride in being an arrogant p***k.
no student voluntarily takes his or her classes.
Well, you should come up to Seattle. They are still all over the place. I always like to look at the people who continue to proudly display them. Funny thing is they look like normal people, but they must be aliens.
I still see enough every day on El Camino Real to make me puke (and deeply want to run their smarmy little Prius’ off the road).
Most Americans aren't happy, so the polls have to reflect that...I suspect however, that it's still part of a media contrivance that will see resurging polls, economic news, etc. in the lead up to November. We're all going to be amazed at how *wonderfully* our democrat masters will be doing come September/October...in fact, the media will tell us we'd be stupid to not vote for them.
These people are so predictable.
Time for a new tagline. :)
44 percent is a landslide for a socialist. And it is GWB’s blame.
Good point, but many more morons are still in the closet.
To me 44% is a scary number. It should be 10% and the most. We have a huge problem and it’s getting bigger. The outrage should have hoards marching the streets to get rid of this guy. 44% is scary!!!!!!
Just one word: STOMP! S-top T-he O-bama M-aster P-lan!
It has now gotten to the point where Bukkaki's White house operatives are buying off journalists to "hide" and "not report on" facts that they may uncover which are "harmful" to O'Bunga's "public image."
The sh*t is about to hit the fan on this pantload, but don't expect to hear it from the Government owned media outlets. It's so inflammatory, there is a chance nobody at FOX but Beck will go public with it, and even he may decide to opt out.
Incredible. America elected a foreign-born mole and agent provocateur, whose mission it is to destroy America from within using our economy.
;-/
I bet it’s lower than that. Everywhere you go; people in both parties are sick of him. I believe “he makes me puke” was the most used.
I was at the Winchester VA Borders recently and 3 bambi supporter cars were there.
One was weird looking.
I walked over to the car to see what it actually said and there were cat heads on either side with “DemoCATS For Obama”.
So, add crazy cat ladies to the list.
