Speaks for itself. Republican politicians pushing anything by legal immigration restrictions and an end to illegal immigration are destroying the party and country.

And who in the Republican party have been major proponents of Hispanic immigration—George W. Bush, Karl Rove, McCain, Linda Chavez, etc. Probably Michael Steele favors it, too. How dumb can you be.

Just a couple of sidebars:

1- Increasing immigration pushes more Anglos out of the Democratic party and into the ranks of “independents” and the GOP

2- How soon before this minority “coalition” turns on each other?

And why do we think only the Republican Party can save us? If we really believe that then we really are doomed.

The number one reason for black unemplyment being so high today is immigration. Their leadership are busy blaming whitey and pushing for amnesty.

Who was the last GOP presidential candidate to win California? Bush Sr. in 1988?

When Florida and Texas (Yes, Texas) get immigrated into new Californias, it's all over. Try to win when the Dems get NY, CA, FL, and TX as gimmies.

Yes; it seems to me that many of the sub-groups which form the democrat coalition don't have a great deal in common, other than their demands for handouts. Do Peruvians have that much in common with, say, Mexicans? Or gays with teamsters? Or blacks with latinos? etc., etc.

25.2 million people

The luckiest human beings in all of human history.

They came to a United States that was already far and away the most powerful country on Earth with the highest standard of living, and they had nothing to do with it.

And we might mention that this number dwarfs the number of people who emigrated to the Colonies between 1609 and 1800, the people who founded the place, and made it what it was.

Even better for them, since most of them are either from Mexico or Asia, they outrank the original Americans in law, since they are members of "protected classes"....simply because they are from those places.

If "democracy" results in the government declaring war against the very people who created it, then what use is it?

It is a smart move for 0 to push imigration reform to take the heat off Obamacare. Illegal immigration is the one issue that can rip the anti Obama coalition apart. In 2008 Every candidate but McCain adopted a no-tollerence policy on illegal immigration, conservatism was rejected by the GOP primary voters in favor of a new Washington tone. Kinda like in 2000. Unfortunately that message couldn't beat Hopey-Changey with moderate voters. Hardcore anti-illegal immigration voters who wouldn't vote for McCain can look forward to the Obama Amnesty.

In June of 06, Speaker Hastert and Majority Leader Boehner announced they would not compromise with the Senate version of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006 even though the bill had passed the Senate and House. In Nov they lost their leadership positions. Just prior to the 2006 elections the Congress passed, and Bush signed, a border fence and ID reform. In every Mexican border state the GOP lost at least one (anti-illegal) congressmen, and the rats lost none. The lesson of the 2006 immigration debate was trying to placate hardcore anti-illegal wing will cost you elections. It's a lesson we should have aleady learned after the CA GOP was reduced to a flacid joke in the wake of Prop 187. The loss of Latino votes who voted for Bush in 2004 was reflected in the defeat of Graf, Hayworth, Hostettler, DeLay, Pambo, Bonilla, Gilcrist, Harris, Santorum, and other conservative Republicans.

Obamnesty is coming soon unless Obama wants the issue in 2012.

Thank you for this link.

“How dumb can (they) be?”

The answer vis-a-vis Repbulicans is becoming more obvious every day.

All but a few have forgotten Bubba Clinton’s politically motivated push to violate federal statutes and INS regulations and naturalize thousands of illegals in time to vote for his relection.
The push was facilitated by AG Reno’s failure to process FBI arrest records of thousands of applicants and the failure to respond to the Congressional body conducting an investigation in that regard.

These impeachable offenses together with Filegate, Chinagate and Travelgate were swept under the carpet by the Republican leadership and not made a part of the impeachment charges v Clinton.

The Republicans are playing “bipartisan politics” and are getting their/our butts kicked.

Duh! Who didn't know this already?

What is it that Juan McCain, Lindsey Graham, Richard Lugar, John Kyl, and others, do not understand? Are they intentionally trying to destroy the Republican party with their pro-amnesty positions?

Or maybe they are still deluded by the Bush/Rove nonsense that pandering and granting amnesty will turn those 'conservative' Latino illegals into loyal Republican voters.

Our organization sponsored an immigration panel at CPAC this year. Professor Gimpel was on the panel along with Mark Krikorian, Robert Rector, and Rep Steve King. I was the moderator.

You are correct. If we do not change our legal immigration policies and stop illegal immigration, the GOP will become the permanent minority party. And an amnesty will just haster the process, which has been ongoing since the 1965 immigration act.

Beyond nonsense. You couldn't prove that if your life depended on it. What cost Republicans votes was the insulting, year-after-year attempt by Bush/Rove to ram amnesty down the throats of a political party that opposed it by 70% and more. Bush's second term was an unmitigated disaster and the party's losses lie squarely on Bush and Rove and their idiotic second term.

Bush's poor communication skills were very costly, insulting everyone with his pathetic little pro-amnesty phrases, and his inability to sell the Iraq war to the American people, or his SS reform which also failed.

The Bush/Rove amnesty gambit was of the dumbest, most costly political mistakes in anyone's memory. They took the party from one of its strongest positions ever after the 2004 elections to one of its weakest positions ever after the 2008 elections.

You blame a handful of losses on the Republican House's rejection of amnesty. What do you attribute the scores of other losses to, in the House and Senate???

Not going to happen. By 2023, half of the children 18 and under will be minorities, as defined by the USG. And by 2042 half of the country will be minorities.

Immigrants account for one in 8 U.S. residents, the highest level in more than 80 years. In 1970 it was one in 21; in 1980 it was one in 16; and in 1990 it was one in 13. In a decade, it will be one in 7, the highest it has been in our history. And by 2050, one in 5 residents of the U.S. will be foreign-born.

We bring in 1.2 million legtal immigrants a year, 87% of whom are minorities and most of whom are poor and undeducated. Immigrants and minorities vote Dem, the party of free stuff. 53% of immigrant headed households are on welfare.

They are all part of a victim group, which entitles them to affirmative action, mninority business set asides, etc. And most of them are dependent upon big government.

Sorry .. don’t believe that .. Bush pulled 43% of Hispanics when he was Gov of TX.

No reason in the world that repubs cannot continue to do that .. if they will just stay true to their real beliefs, and not try to co-opt what the dems are saying and doing.

Repubs don’t have to do anything .. the public can see that the cities and counties and states are going bankrupt by giving free everything to the illegals. The repubs just have to understand where the public stands on this issue and go with that .. because that’s who they are supposed to represent.

The dems only want Amnesty because they believe IT WILL KEEP THEM IN POWER FOR EVER !!!! Does anybody in their right mind want that ..?? They’re already bankrupting us after one year .. what in heaven’s name can they do in 3 more years with 25 million more voters. It’s mind boggling.

You can kiss America goodbye!
