Speaks for itself. Republican politicians pushing anything by legal immigration restrictions and an end to illegal immigration are destroying the party and country.

And who in the Republican party have been major proponents of Hispanic immigration—George W. Bush, Karl Rove, McCain, Linda Chavez, etc. Probably Michael Steele favors it, too. How dumb can you be.

Just a couple of sidebars:

1- Increasing immigration pushes more Anglos out of the Democratic party and into the ranks of “independents” and the GOP

2- How soon before this minority “coalition” turns on each other?

Who was the last GOP presidential candidate to win California? Bush Sr. in 1988?

When Florida and Texas (Yes, Texas) get immigrated into new Californias, it's all over. Try to win when the Dems get NY, CA, FL, and TX as gimmies.

25.2 million people

The luckiest human beings in all of human history.

They came to a United States that was already far and away the most powerful country on Earth with the highest standard of living, and they had nothing to do with it.

And we might mention that this number dwarfs the number of people who emigrated to the Colonies between 1609 and 1800, the people who founded the place, and made it what it was.

Even better for them, since most of them are either from Mexico or Asia, they outrank the original Americans in law, since they are members of "protected classes"....simply because they are from those places.

If "democracy" results in the government declaring war against the very people who created it, then what use is it?

It is a smart move for 0 to push imigration reform to take the heat off Obamacare. Illegal immigration is the one issue that can rip the anti Obama coalition apart. In 2008 Every candidate but McCain adopted a no-tollerence policy on illegal immigration, conservatism was rejected by the GOP primary voters in favor of a new Washington tone. Kinda like in 2000. Unfortunately that message couldn't beat Hopey-Changey with moderate voters. Hardcore anti-illegal immigration voters who wouldn't vote for McCain can look forward to the Obama Amnesty.

In June of 06, Speaker Hastert and Majority Leader Boehner announced they would not compromise with the Senate version of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2006 even though the bill had passed the Senate and House. In Nov they lost their leadership positions. Just prior to the 2006 elections the Congress passed, and Bush signed, a border fence and ID reform. In every Mexican border state the GOP lost at least one (anti-illegal) congressmen, and the rats lost none. The lesson of the 2006 immigration debate was trying to placate hardcore anti-illegal wing will cost you elections. It's a lesson we should have aleady learned after the CA GOP was reduced to a flacid joke in the wake of Prop 187. The loss of Latino votes who voted for Bush in 2004 was reflected in the defeat of Graf, Hayworth, Hostettler, DeLay, Pambo, Bonilla, Gilcrist, Harris, Santorum, and other conservative Republicans.

Obamnesty is coming soon unless Obama wants the issue in 2012.

Duh! Who didn't know this already?

What is it that Juan McCain, Lindsey Graham, Richard Lugar, John Kyl, and others, do not understand? Are they intentionally trying to destroy the Republican party with their pro-amnesty positions?

Or maybe they are still deluded by the Bush/Rove nonsense that pandering and granting amnesty will turn those 'conservative' Latino illegals into loyal Republican voters.

Our organization sponsored an immigration panel at CPAC this year. Professor Gimpel was on the panel along with Mark Krikorian, Robert Rector, and Rep Steve King. I was the moderator.

You are correct. If we do not change our legal immigration policies and stop illegal immigration, the GOP will become the permanent minority party. And an amnesty will just haster the process, which has been ongoing since the 1965 immigration act.

Sorry .. don’t believe that .. Bush pulled 43% of Hispanics when he was Gov of TX.

No reason in the world that repubs cannot continue to do that .. if they will just stay true to their real beliefs, and not try to co-opt what the dems are saying and doing.

Repubs don’t have to do anything .. the public can see that the cities and counties and states are going bankrupt by giving free everything to the illegals. The repubs just have to understand where the public stands on this issue and go with that .. because that’s who they are supposed to represent.

The dems only want Amnesty because they believe IT WILL KEEP THEM IN POWER FOR EVER !!!! Does anybody in their right mind want that ..?? They’re already bankrupting us after one year .. what in heaven’s name can they do in 3 more years with 25 million more voters. It’s mind boggling.

You can kiss America goodbye!

“Conclusions

Using standard statistical methods, this research has directly estimated the impact of the rising percentage of immigrants across U.S. counties on Republican presidential voting in the eight presidential elections from 1980 to 2008. The conclusion is inescapable and uncomplicated. As the immigrant population has grown, Republican electoral prospects have dimmed, even after controlling for alternative explanations of GOP performance.”

Are you listening GOP???? How ‘bout it Mr. Steele...stop your pandering!

It’s April Fools’ Day all year long at the RNC (Malkin on Michael “Amnesty” Steele)
