Last week, President Obama signed historic health care reform legislation into law -- but his legislative success doesn't seem to have helped his image with the American public.
The latest CBS News Poll, conducted between March 29 and April 1, found Americans unhappier than ever with Mr. Obama's handling of health care - and still worried about the state of the economy.
President Obama's overall job approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 44 percent, down five points from late March, just before the health bill's passage in the House of Representatives. It's down 24 points since his all-time high last April. Forty-one percent of those polled said they disapproved of the president's performance.

Now THAT was good!
This one is funny too, parady of Obama as a geuine stereotypical homey “black guy” because it is from a person of color ,who obviously hasn’t drunk the Obama kool aide.

Pit Bulls have a higher approval rating.
Agreed. He could be at 20% approval in the spring of 2012 and he'd still think his reelection would be inevitable.
As I recall on the eve of the '94 mid terms the spin from the MSM was that the GOP had peaked too early and the Dem losses would be only marginal. Didn't quite turn out that way.
Dan Rather would claim that every typewriter from the early 70's could do the same thing. :)
I remember that idiot Peter Jennings absolutely crowing about how all those suckers who signed the Contract with America had to be kicking themselves because of the price they were about to pay because of it. Then, when Republicans swept the election, Petey Boy declared that, "The electorate has had a temper tantrum."
Reminds of CBS refusing to call Ohio for Bush back in 2004 long after it was clearly over.
“Obama’s Approval Rating Hits New Low”
Who cares, “I WON!”
You have our prayers as you drive. Also, you might want to have a few ready snappy comebacks for any insults (or other things) hurled your way.
No doubt CBS polls left but this poll we are using on this thread about Pres Bro is CBS too.
As much as we loathe Obama he is not nearly as unpopular yet as Bush became across the board.
It would be nice but I think there are 30% who will always love him...a larger love base than Bush had ...especially after Bush stumbled on amnesty and ired his base.
Here is a link to Bush's aggregate including less biased sources than CBS.
*plus Bush had much shorter to fall....he started out at barely 50%, Bro started at mid 70s...Bush did have 9-11 that skyrocketed him but that was short lived....I think most Dems felt his election was illegitimate(they are crybabies by nature )...we may hate Bro but we don't have that argument however impausible
on the other hand...until 9-11 Bush sorted floated by with polls sorta steady with a slight downward bias
Obama has lost 1/3rd.....that is a big difference...he is doing polarizing things obviously and think how bad it would be if the media were honest about him?
It will be UNPRECEDENTED and HISTORIC, to use the Obozo's favorite words.
They beat him down incessantly and that dropped him in the mushy middle, which, if they had even a clue about the truth about what he was doing, would not have turned on him.
Again, the fact that Obama gets continued media adulation and support, as opposed to the incessant lies and beatings Bush took, and still his popularity has dropped like a rock, is significant.
I believe with an unbiased media, even with the conservative loss of support toward the end, Bush would have stayed well above where Obama is now.
The lies worked.
see post 93 above...last sentence
Even Karl Rove now admits that.
*Waves to OhioWfan*
I guess the horse isn't dead after all.....
:-)
This is not enough.
There must be an alternative.
A disagreement with the current policies does not an alternative make. What is the vision of this country that will be the best alternative?
All I see is a slight change from one policy to the next, but overall, the world is advancing by increments to the control of the masses by groupthink and the elimination of individual freedom.
Were I born in the days of the original patriots, I would have long since moved west into the wilderness with my family. I see no leadership that will take us where our freedoms will be restored. We have no more wilderness in which to hide. Our only option is here.
(Sorry, I missed that).
And I have always agreed that it would have made a difference.
But, I repeat, he DID defend the War on Terror and the battle for Iraq.
Waving back. ;*)
