American University Erupts Over Date Rape: Girls Who Drink and Go to Frat Parties Deserve Date Rape, Says Student Newspaper Columnist
Today begins Sexual Abuse Awareness and Prevention month -- and American University is in an uproar over an anti-feminist diatribe in the student newspaper charging that some women who survive date rape invited it.
"Let's get this straight: any woman who heads to an EI [fraternity] party as an anonymous onlooker, drinks five cups of the jungle juice, and walks back to a boy's room with him is indicating that she wants sex, OK?" columnist Alex Knepper, 20, wrote in the Eagle, the school paper.
"To cry 'date rape' after you sober up the next morning and regret the incident is the equivalent of pulling a gun to someone's head and then later claiming that you didn't ever actually intend to pull the trigger," he said.

Let’s say someone tapes 100 $50 bills to himself and goes walking in the worst neighborhood in Detroit at 3 in the morning by himself. Let’s say he gets mugged. The mugger still committed a crime. The victim is stupid. Both facts can be true.
Its time to quick calling rape date-rape. Anyone who rapes my daughter had better not let me get to him.
Rape of any kind is NEVER, NEVER, NEVER ever acceptable!
It incenses me that anyone would protect this hideous, barbaric act! RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
What a horrible thing to say. YOU'D better be prepared to MAKE him fracking stop.
How about “Don’t drink so much that you can’t say no”? The movement to remove personal responsibility from women who drink excessively disgusts me. But then, drunken women disgust me, too. There is very little that is sexy about women with puke in their hair and on their clothes.
Why would you let your daughter get into any situation where such is possible?
but is date rape the same as rape rape...?? sarc
You see what's going on there? It's lying with statistics. I would easily have upregulated the sentence by saying:
"99.9 percent of college women who are victims know their assailants -- usually a classmate, friend, boyfriend, ex-boyfrend, acquaintance, or a man fond of wearing shoes."
------
The objective of this article and the whole movement is to make women fear men. And another one might be to make hot chicks more available for dates with woman fond of comfortable footwear.
Jeez, if you are so stupid to get crawling on the floor drunk around a bunch of fudge packers, then you deserve what you get.
Sure, but my example mentions nothing of alcohol. When a woman has her judgment impaired due to intoxication, the proper action should be to not sleep with her. But the same example holds true when no alcohol is involved.
And I’d imagine that the male involved was also imbibing, so his judgment could be impaired as well.
Go take a survey of 1,000 women and see how many of them belive in global warming and voted for Barack 0bama, too. There are real cases of date rape, but there are also real cases of drunk women who convince themselves that they didn’t really mean it and therefore they were raped. Then we get situations where the drunk woman can’t be expected to consent to sex, but the equally drunk man must be expected to be responsible for both of them. As the editorial writer noted, this contradiction infantalizes women. Men can control themselves when drunk; according to the date rape doctrine, women can not control themselves when drunk.
Frat party/date rape is becoming a meme. The more I hear of it, the less inclined I am to accept the complainer’s version of the truth. It often involves large amounts of alcohol and pot. It never seems to involve sound judgement.
The biggest part of the problem is the situation in which people put themselves. If someone goes to the biggest bachannal on campus, it should not be a surprise when that person can’t find their clothing the next morning.
And falsely accusing a man of rape of any kind is NEVER, NEVER, NEVER ever acceptable!
I would not say that those girls were “asking for it.” But any girl who goes into a locked room alone with a guy she hardly knows is incredibly stupid. If he forces himself on you, is it still rape? Of course. But there is nothing about the situation that can prevent him from raping you. All of your recourse is after the fact attempts to try to punish him and maybe prevent his repeat offense. But all of your efforts are hampered by the only two people who know the truth are telling different stories.
Girls or women should expect society to protect them. But if you go into a room alone with a guy you are making it impossible for society to prevent the rape.
If I drive into certain neighborhoods, unarmed, and with cash and crack in my car, I cannot expect the police to prevent the obvious outcome. Are the perps guilty of assault or murder? You bet. But I am nevertheless dead or maimed.
I hear you, but where is the boundary? At the bedroom doorway?
In the bed? In the middle of the act?
I agree, no means no. I feel sorry for guys who wind up ruined because of vengeful girls (Duke lacrosse team) as well.
Yes agree, I would shoot the son of a bi... that tries this with my daughter.
Also men need to be real men, and tell their sons that this type of behavior is a criminal act and intolerable.
It happens way too often.
You have to ask yourself what these girls were thinking when they made the decision to go to a frat party and get smashed. They knew damned well what the deal was.
” I catch a lot of good tips on Facebook and Twitter “
I wouldn’t go to facebook or twitter if you put a gun to my head!
This story will disappear by the end of the day.

Yep! Gays are more favored than feminists in the MSM right now.
A girl being drunk doesn't give anyone a license to rape her but there is a particular type of girl that gets drunk as an excuse for having sex in which case the sex is obviously consensual despite what she might say the next day.
And, of course, there is a type of guy that will get a girl not looking for sex drugged or drunk and then have sex with her in which case it is obviously not consensual and criminal charges should be brought.
