Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has asked the Republican National Committee to remove her name from a fundraiser the committee is planning piggybacking off of the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, POLITICO has learned.
Palins staff has twice told the RNC to remove her name from an invitation sent to donors, obtained by POLITICO on Wednesday, showing her as an invited speaker to the four-day fundraiser in New Orleans, timed to coincide with the SRLC event in Louisiana.
Palin, who will appear at SRLC, will not take part in any RNC fundraiser in New Orleans, an aide said.
The RNC invitation touts Palin along with other SRLC speakers, including Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, Fox News host Sean Hannity, Rep. Mike Pence (R-Ind.) and former Sen. Rick Santorum (R-Pa.), as invited speakers for the event.
Santorum is the only speaker advertised on the invitation who is confirmed to attend the fundraiser.
Palin previously asked to be removed from a Conservative Political Action Conference invitation, which twice listed her as an invited speaker though she hadnt agreed to attend the event.
The only Republicans confirmed to be attending the RNC event are Santorum, former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, Rep. Rodney Alexander (R-La.), Texas Gov. Rick Perry and Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-La.).
The invitation promises that other Republican superstars will attend the fundraiser, but does not say who those might be.
You gotta think like these bums when you read their beg letters and fundraiser invites.
I forgot to add... it doesn’t matter to them that she won’t be there. If they can fool a few donors into thinking she will be there, they get money to donate to RINO campaigns.
The RNC wants to ride free and still give the marching orders!
It ain’t gonna happen Mikey!
Write a sentence or two on one of the enclosures on why you're NOT CONTRIBUTING....then mail it back.
If they get enough of these pithy missiles, the message MAY start getting through their thick skulls that we Republicans are fed up with RINOs and we're not going to take it any more!
I'm still a thoughtful enough Republican that I DO put my own stamp on their prepaid envelope. I may be angry, but I'm not cheap.

.
I believe that Haley Barbour is the CURRENT Governor of Mississippi.
I missed that...WOW! How incompetent......
I wonder if politico has anything wrong, because Haley Barbour is still the Governor of my state, NOT the former governor.
And polishing McCain’s apple and giving money to Lindsey Graham.
Exactly. Don’t mess with Sarah.
The last time I heard speak about Steele, it was complimentary.
This looks like a giant screw-up by an over-reaching RNC, taking her for granted.
This is just plain presumptuous of the RNC. Just because she might be in that neck of the woods at that time doesn’t mean the RNC can presume on her availability. Say what you will about dirty bastard Rats, but at least they seem to verify their speakers.
Hi Yudan!
“You betcha” he is and I spotted that too.
TURD IN THE PUNCHBOWL!!!
Screw you.
Must be that Mavericky thing we all keep hearing about
Won’t appear with RNC but WILL appear with John McCain...
Hmmmm.
Please!........Sheesh!
Exactly . . . and she is NOT getting a pass for it from me. Getting McCain and his ilk de-elected is necessary if we are going to stop the Obama-Pelosi machine.
I’ve thought about it for a long time and there is no good reason for Palin to endorse McCain and make appearances on his behalf.
She had to do it ONCE! She will not go there again so PLEASE...let it go! And then she will support JD WHEN Mccain will have lost! LET IT GO...
Let's see: Sarah campaigned with McCain, now she's campaigning with...OMG, Michele Bachmann's a RINO!!! (/sarc)
