Breaking: Militia group (Hutaree) charged with "seditious conspiracy" by FBI

In a press release just handed to Fox by the FBI, the six Michigan residents, two from Ohio, one from Indiana are charged with “seditious conspiracy.”

Reportedly, Hutaree is accused of attempted use of weapons of mass destruction. Charges range from August 2008 to today.

The militia group Hutaree are said to have conspired to oppose by force the authority of the US Government.

The members viewed local, state and federal law enforcement as "the brotherhood," also known as their enemy, and have been preparing, the FBI says, to engage them in armed conflict.

According to one plan released by the FBI, the group was to kill a law enforcement officer, then during the funeral precession, hit again with IEDs to kill more LEOs.

I wonder why the FBI doesn’t arrest the bald commie of sedition and treason too(the one that Glenn Beck had a video of recently)? He was calling for the violent overthrow of our government. What about all of the well-documented radical islamist militias training in our country? Why haven’t they arrested them? Why is the media so quick to say ‘Christian extremist’..yet they never even use the word ‘Islamic extremist’?

If this is true, then it was a good bust, and kudos to the FBI are well deserved.

It doesn't take much for those steeped in Socialism and Communism like those surrounding the POTUS in the White House to feel opposed and extend this to other segments of what we see as Free Speech, as the political rhetoric gets louder leading into the 2010 Election.

If these charges are true, it's anyone’s guess. We'll have to see what the FBI shows as their proof.

But it sure seems at the outset that the Obama Administration & the FBI will use this — and the MSM will hype this — into "instructive" political intimation toward the critics of the Administration.

What a great way to squelch political expression by making an example of others.

If you oppose the US Government, you may be seen as Seditious, depending on the yardstick Eric Holder & his boss wish to use that day.

1. Get the go from Holder.
2. Seal the charges
3. Storm home and property of militia members
4. Release info packets for media and DNC to spin.
5. Put “scary” militia training video on loop
6. Run for a few weeks and cite for months to come.
7. Release all but one of the militia members
8. Charge at least 1 for some pot or unregistered vehicle found during the initial illegal raid.
9. Political cover/distraction provided for next federal power grab.
10. Call it a day.

There's a whole lot of "if's" attached to this story, quoting anonymous sources, and CAIR and SPLC are at the center of it fanning the flames.

Come on, this is Free Republic, we speculate all the time! IF this was a Muslim group out of Dearborn Michigan that had on it's website that the US was an anti Mohammed (instead of Anti-Christ) there would be 1000 replys ready to hang the guys.

As a Conservative I DO NOT associate with this militia, its website philosophy, or any talk of taking out law enforcement officers, and IF they are guilty, I hope they hang!!!

Yeah. This is confusing. Going after the local police officers doesn't fit. It's not the police who are tyrannical.

Last year there was a shooting murder of an abortionist by an antiabortion protester and there was a shooting murder of an antiabotion protester by a proabortion protester.

Got to change the conversations on Main Street. Just as the administration intended. Have this story front and center in the media to try and get everyone to focus on this instead of what is really important......deathcare, unemployment, out of control spending, etc.

Could be this one will end up like James O’Keefe and his friends in Louisiana. Charges downgraded to misdemeanor. Sensationalize the original incident and then barely a peep when the truth comes out.
