No link yet, only from live broadcast:

In a press release just handed to Fox by the FBI, the six Michigan residents, two from Ohio, one from Indiana are charged with “seditious conspiracy.”

Reportedly, Hutaree is accused of attempted use of weapons of mass destruction. Charges range from August 2008 to today.

The militia group Hutaree are said to have conspired to oppose by force the authority of the US Government.

The members viewed local, state and federal law enforcement as "the brotherhood," also known as their enemy, and have been preparing, the FBI says, to engage them in armed conflict.

According to one plan released by the FBI, the group was to kill a law enforcement officer, then during the funeral precession, hit again with IEDs to kill more LEOs.

> Were they read their Miranda rights?

If not, I'm sure Holder will want to ship them down to Gitmo.

So now any device that has the potential to kill more than one person is a WMD?

This makes Bush absolutely right! Iraq did have WMD's.

The only difference, I see, is this group is purportedly Christian and not atheistic Marxist.

Beware of wolves in sheep's clothing. The Westboro Baptist Church claims to be Christian, but they were actually left wing activist lawyers for Al Gore in 2000. Their real objective is anti-Christianity.

Thanks for posting the actual indictment. IF and only IF the allegations pan out with evidence (and it looks like email messages and mentions of actual materials means they have the evidence), it looks like section d. on page 6 is what probably did them in.

The leader threatened to kill any members that didn’t go along with the April 10 operation and one of the members probably got spooked and started to cooperate with the Feds.

As someone previously stated, if they are found innocent, release them. If found guilty, let em hang.

As someone with many family members in law enforcement, if any group ever wanted to use the killing of a police officer as an example or to incite some sort of political message, I would want them locked up for a loooong time.

That’s the sort of prosecution that can make a career.

Or get your head sawed-off.

The FBI would have had a plant inside this group...which begs the question, was it he who originated the plan in the first place?

You are right on the $oney.

The war in the ‘ghan could come to a quick end if we simply burned the poppy fields.

I had a boss, in the mid ‘70’s, in Calif., who put me in charge of his furniture store and went off to Afghanistan. At that time, there were, I think, 2 roads and one phone in the country.

I couldn't understand - naivete - why he'd want to go to Afghanistan.

From there, he went to Amsterdam - of all places.
Then he came home and moved up to San Francisco - leaving me to send him a check each week.

Golly, gee, wonder what he was involved in - first hand?

I hope he had a frosty reception. I understand the troops are typically ordered to attend. Maybe some of them will smile and cross their fingers as a sign to the public that they are being forced.

Militia Groups = Idiots EVERYTIME!

I won't make a moral appeal to fools, but even they should have some sense of self preservation.

When these stooges assemble, wherever they form a group, they should realize the odds are their group has an informant or informants. Finding the Rat or making the Rat is what the Feds do best.

If you are in a group quit, if you are considering joining don't. The more you get in the woods with guns and talk trash about the Gubmint or theologize some horse manure about the Anti-Christ or cockamamie racial theory the closer you get to crossing some line so the Feds can cancel your ass like a stamp.

What these guys are accused of doing is like the Seeds of David, the terrorist cell that was rolled up in Miami, Fla. Those guys didn’t get to attack anybody, either - but they damn sure were preparing to. And they were arrested on the same sorts of charges.

Obama is raising the stakes dangerously.

The only people it is dangerous to is us. We'll sit around, eat our own, whine and complain...

Business as usual.

You’re kidding, right?

I’ve read about evidence right here on FR! No one touches the Muslims no matter what they do, plan or say. Or rarely.

Even Hassan slaughtered 14 people and wounded more than 2 dozen, and he was a lone misunderstood person! He was a one man jihadi with tons of Muslim extremist connections.

Your statement has no truth in it.

[Sounds a lot like the group that Obama’s hero, neighbor and friend, William Ayers, led...except they actually completed many of their bombings]

Yep. I distinctly remember the prosthetic hook/arm worn by one of my dad’s co-workers, back around 1970. I don’t remember the details, but IIRC the owner had the misfortune of being on the bomb-squad while the SLA “Militia” / Black Panthers and similar miscreants were doing their bidness.

A Republic, is a system of governance characterized by the Rule of Law. Such a cowardly attack on LEOs constitutes an attack upon the Republic - and spitting upon the grave of every individual who sacrificed “TO SECURE THESE RIGHTS”.

If the allegations are true then, upon conviction, these terrorists should be dealt with as severely as the Law of this Republic allows.

Looks like count 4 in the indictment posted is pretty much a done deal. They actually have a youtube video showing a tripwire rigged explosive and it actually going off while wearing sidearms and carrying rifles. I had no idea that carrying a gun when doing that is a federal crime, but if so, the evidence for that count is actually on youtube. If these 4 charges stick, this group will be in prison for a long, long time.
