The case of the Naked Guy -- the Fairfax County man arrested for being naked inside his own house last fall -- is starting to sprout some serious legal wings, after Fairfax police officers testified Friday that they had no warrant when they entered the man's house, and then approached him with their guns drawn as he slept, with pants on, in his bed.
The case of Erick Williamson, 29, attracted significant media attention for his claims that he had been arrested for indecent exposure on Oct. 19 simply for drinking coffee in the nude in the kitchen of his rented Springfield house. At his misdemeanor trial in Fairfax General District Court in December, it turned out it wasn't that simple.

Does he own a pitbull?
;-0
He’s leaving the curtains open so the little kids will see him?
I looked up to see who posted this...now I’m so confused. I assumed it would be The Magical Mischief Tour because it’s about police shenanigans, but it’s Chet99, but there are no pit bulls involved.
Don’t confuse me bro!
I’m going to bed now, this is too hard for me.
Since when is it illegal to walk to your truck with beer in hand? I am in deet ship.
Uh oh... Phallic jokes coming in 4...3..2..1...
I am ambivalent on this one — extremely so.
You of course can be nude in your own home, but it isn’t fair (nor proper) to be exposing yourself to obvious passerbys. If the windows are in the back and only available to be seen by those who REALLY are looking for it, then the heck with them. But if they face the street, it is the same as being on the lawn (IMHO).
Now, as far as the cops go, I am even more ambivalent (I know, “ambivalent” is an absolute and should not be modified). But it is a quandary: Broken window — what if someone broke in and we (the cops) drive away? Likewise, what if we find someone there? BUT!!! Once it was determined that he was the owner/proper resident in the house, the cops should have left, even if there was anything less than a felony warrant.
Other thoughts? This is one of those cases where I always enjoy and mull FReeper thinking.
Now that I see there were actually two independent reports, I believe the guy was in view.
As far as the cops walking in because of an "open door," I'd rather they just stayed out of my house.
Hmmm...peeping Thomasinas? That’s some weird stuff.
Excellent post, should cause some memorable comments. Like “If you come over here and get up on this stool by this window, you can see him, officer! (Justin Wilson)
as I remember reading last year, the guy had been drinking the night before. I don’t believe he had any prior arrests for indecency. It seems to me that exposure was inadvertent. He woke up, still tipsy, and probably wasn’t as aware as he should have been.
This fellow should have been more careful, the complainants shouldn’t have been such busybodies, and the cops should have stayed out of his house without a warrant.
It is OK to make coffee naked, just not bacon.
“No more cooking breakfast stark nekkid” ping.
I *never* cook nekkid!
(I wear flip-flops.)
muzak?
General, when women run into naked strangers it's a very scary event that doesn't end well.
Er, generally that is.
See the following links
The naked truth? Woman's account exposes different story
"Channel 5 reports the woman and 7-year-old boy who saw him naked apparently had cut through Williamson's front yard from a nearby path."
and
Naked Man Making Coffee in Kitchen Arrested for Indecent Exposure: Witness Admits Cutting Through Mans Yard. Springfield, VA, Cops Scramble to Back up Cops Wife Claim
(cops covering for another cop's wife?)
"The witness, a neighborhood woman, is married to a Fairfax county cop and admitted she, along with the boy, had cut through Williamsons yard."
An additional observation from the above link is:
"We have no doubt, that if the tables were turned, and a man had cut through the witness yard in the early morning hours and had looked into her window, then she could have a case of a peeping Tom. "
Then perhaps you shouldn’t be walking on his lawn.
Where does it say they were walking on his lawn?
