This was discussed extensively back in October. I'll admit that I was on the side that thought the mom shouldn't have been looking into the house. The reports at the time said that she was cutting across his yard.

Now that I see there were actually two independent reports, I believe the guy was in view.

As far as the cops walking in because of an "open door," I'd rather they just stayed out of my house.

I remember those reports that the "victims" were essentially going out of their way to look in the guy's windows.

See the following links
The naked truth? Woman's account exposes different story
"Channel 5 reports the woman and 7-year-old boy who saw him naked apparently had cut through Williamson's front yard from a nearby path."
and
Naked Man Making Coffee in Kitchen Arrested for Indecent Exposure: Witness Admits Cutting Through Man’s Yard. Springfield, VA, Cops Scramble to Back up Cop’s Wife Claim
(cops covering for another cop's wife?)
"The “witness”, a neighborhood woman, is married to a Fairfax county cop and admitted she, along with the boy, had “cut through” Williamson’s yard."
An additional observation from the above link is:
"We have no doubt, that if the tables were turned, and a man had “cut” through the witness’ yard in the early morning hours and had “looked” into her window, then she could have a case of a “peeping Tom”. "
