A Heritage Foundation report sets the costs of granting amnesty to millions of aliens illegally in our country at $999 billion. Yet enforcement of existing immigration laws which would spur self deportations could be accomplished for “only” $14 billion. Amnesty will cost about 70 times as much as getting tough and slamming shut our border gates.
Myths about the “benefits” of amnesty
1) Across the board amnesty for illegals will boost tax revenues because these workers will become taxpayers who will begin to pay their own way.
Wrong: The jobs held by most illegals are bottom level low paying positions which will contribute little to government treasuries. Moreover paying their pittance would make them eligible for governmental benefits worth several times their contributions. To fund the immediate eventual obligations caused by this huge influx of new takers, will cost $1tillion and add 5% per year until the first wave hits Social Security in 2056.
2) The costs of enforcement to rid us of illegals would be prohibitive.
The CBO estimated it would cost $1.9 billion a year for five years and with an inevitable 5% per year increase the total cost could actually be about $13.5 billion.
Wrong: The House bill designed to start mass self deportations because of new strong enforcement of immigration was recognized for its potential to be successful by its target group. Proving they are NOT of this country so therefore they are oblivious to what was going on, thousands of illegal aliens marched in Washington last Sunday to demand its rejection.
The bill H.R. 4437 “The Border Protection, Antiterrorism, and Illegal Immigration Control Act of 2005” was loaded with common sense steps to protect America.

Actually, in many (most?) cases illegals are working for LESS than minimum wage. The democrat plan is to turn these illegal minorities into 2nd class semi-citizens and it's immoral, although predictable. I say predictable because it's just a continuation of slavery, which was a democrat ideal and obviously remains one today.

I think this is going to be a far tougher fight for the democrats. Too many democrats played suicide bomber for the cause of socialized medicine and I expect a lot more resistance.
Also people need to remember the huge outpouring of opposition the last time they tried pushing amnesty. A good many liberals were right there with us because they saw that illegals were raping their precious social programs.

What scares the living daylights about immigration is the fact that the Health Care passed despite such aversion to it by the people.
We KNOW these thugs will do whatever they want no matter what!
We already lost this one too. This is another consequence of losing elections, and handing control of the House, Senate and the Presidency over to one party. I have no reason to believe the Democrats won’t ram this one through this week while they still have the momentum over health care. If this works, maybe they will take a shot at Cap and Trade next.
Lots and lots they can do between now and the time the next Congress gets sworn in next January, and if we don’t have more than 60 votes in the Senate by then, there will be no way to over-ride a veto from Premier Hussein for at least 2 more years.
The challenge is to reclaim both the House and the Senate in sufficient numbers to neutralize Zero, and that is a very tall order indeed.
I’m not shooting anything full of holes here, but pointing out the realities that people need to get up to speed on in one big hurry.
The long, difficult battle over Obamacare is either very encouraging or very depressing when the rest of his agenda is considered.
It took months longer to get socialist medicine rammed through than the socialists had hoped.
But now we have to watch for dirty tricks, Constitutional violations, bribery and other scandals, not to mention Executive Orders that nobody will challenge and a Supreme Court that forgot how to play the “checks and balances” role.
14-year-old illegal alien to be tried as adult for rape, robbery

On Friday, in Butler County, OH, Alex Ramirez, 14, appeared before Juvenile Court Judge Ronald Craft and heard that he will be tried as an adult for the alleged rape and robbery of a 64-year-old Liberty Township woman.
The victim’s family was in court for the proceeding and testified to the deterioration of the woman’s health since the particularly violent attack. They reported that she has simply lost her will to live. Barely eating and drinking.
Her son said: “All she wants to do is sit and stare out a window.”
According to detectives with the Butler County sheriff’s office, armed with a pellet rifle, Ramirez entered his victim’s home in the early morning hours of Jan. 11. He then demanded money, beat and raped the woman, finally forcing her to drive him to an ATM.
At Friday’s hearing, Dr. Kim Stookey, a forensic psychologist, described her meeting with Ramirez, and the troubling results of the tests she administered to the Mexican national.
Dr. Stookey diagnosed Ramirez as a high-risk sex offender, citing that he seems to be “fixated” on the sight of blood, even being aroused by it. She said his chances for rehabilitation are low, and gave her recommendation that his trial be moved to adult court.
Prosecutors also told the court about Ramirez’ disruptive behavior for the two months he has been incarcerated. In addition to being loud and confrontational, he has reportedly been sexually gratifying himself in public view.
In an earlier proceeding, a detective told the court of a rather sickening statement made by Ramirez, when he was arrested for the rape. Ramirez reportedly said: “Well, I guess you have to pay the price for having a little fun.”
Ramirez is charged with felonious assault, aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, kidnapping and rape. Judge Craft set bail at $1.1 million.
