JON VOIGHT: Call to Arms: Join Me in DC Saturday to Stop ObamaCare
biggovernment.com ^ | 03/18/10 | Jon Voight

Posted on 03/18/2010 3:49:59 PM PDT by American Dream 246

am calling to all of you freedom-loving Americans to come once again to Washington D.C. to gather on the Capitol steps on Saturday, at 12 o’clock noon.

WE MUST COME BY THE THOUSANDS.

Speaker Pelosi will stop at nothing to fulfill her corrupt conquests. She will bring all of the corrupt ACORN liars to try to bully all the Democrats that may be having pangs of guilt knowing quite surely what their votes can and will do. If they’re bullied into saying “yes,” it will destroy America.

Be there in Washington DC at 12 noon EST so we can give all the Democrats who know what the end result will be the courage to say: “No, do not pass this destructive bill.”

I’ll see you there.

I agree with you. The division is too wide, the hatred too great. It’s inevitable, the only question is when and what sparks it. Everywhere I go, everyone I talk to is at the breaking point. We are sitting on a ticking time bmb.

We were at the 9/12 rally, along with about a million fellow patriots, and afterward we all packed up our things and went back to our lives.

And yet they ignored us.

We spent a lot of money that really didn't have to go there, and while it was a defining moment in our lives that we are so glad we didn't miss, it infuriates me that it didn't make a bit of difference to those A-holes living on that shining "city on a hill." They're going to do what they were always going to do...try to control us from cradle to grave.

Well, it's time to stop being nice. The only way to get their attention is to shut down that town for a week. Nothing goes in or out. We camp out on the Mall for days at a time. Go Romanian on them. Make them regret ever ignoring us.

I am so beyond pissed at this point.

RE: “I was reading the book The Russians by Hedrick Smith and he wrote on the subject of health care in the Soviet Union. He said the party nomenklatura received gold-plated care, while the rest of the country received meager care. Doctors were on-call day and night for Brezhnev and other elites.
If this atrocity is passed, this is exactly what we can expect.”

***********

I read that book before my trip to Russia in 1977.
A real eye opener. And I recall plenty from that trip, like the fact that at the time, taxi drivers there were said to receive the same pay as doctors. How about THAT!!!
Everyone had a ‘job’ — even if it meant really old ladies were sweeping the vast streets of Moscow with brooms made of twigs. It was almost third world there in 1977.
Nothing worked; everything was grey, including the moods of the people. Worst dental work I’ve ever seen, anywhere.
If you wanted green beans, you bought Russian green beans — there was NO quality control on anything at all.

TV was nothing but nonstop propaganda from Breszhnev and others. Prava and Izvestia was like the NY Times and WaPo are now — there was NO competition for anything. Two Russian cars were available for purchase but the waiting list, if anyone saved up the money, was about two years.

The government owned EVERYTHING, including all the large apartment buildings people lived in — SHARED with another family in almost all cases. Oh, and the wait for a phone was about a year.

Need more? The tires on their planes were bald, Aeroflot, geesh, what a nightmare. NOTHING WAS ANY GOOD!!! I see it happening here — I knew it before Obama won the election — bit by bit, incrementally we will be eaten away at and dulled down to 300 million sheep if we don’t revolt NOW!

And oh yes, the commie party higher ups were treated to the best of everything, sneaking into the Kremlin for medical care from western trained doctors, shopping for nice goods that no one else could buy. People on the streets of Moscow and Leningrad would approach us ‘tourists’ and beg to buy our jeans, shoes, watches, or change money so they could get their hands on some DOLLARS as rubles would not let them into any stores that had anything worthwhile. It was pitiful, just pitiful.

One store for the commoners got a shipment of badly styled jeans and a crowd immediately lined up for blocks. There were so many shortages, people would see a line and instinctively get in it. People carried string bags, always, in case something became available and they needed to haul it home, spur of the moment.

Sorry to take up so much space writing this — it’s just all flooding back to me now — I’m in LA but I think I may try to get a red eye to DC Friday night and join in on Saturday. It’s THAT important!

Bring your children.

“Shut the hell up...defeatism isn’t on my radar screen.

Loser.”

Sorry you feel that way, but I just won’t do a suicidal Pickett’s Charge against a strongly held enemy line.

Also, I recognize reality.

The math is against us...this weekend.

We have to regroup, refit and understand that the issue between Freedom and the Slavery in our era cannot be settled by demonstrations, parliamentary maneuvers, jammed telephone lines, Congressional votes and angry editorials, but only by Iron and Blood.

The civil war is upon us. Embrace the suck.

I see the end result of this weekend’s Congressional funnies to be civil war no matter which way the vote goes.

If somehow our side pulls it off, the Left is gonna go absolutely APE. If we lose, the Right is gonna go absolutely APE.

This incident may end up the first battle in the Second U.S. Civil War.

We must go in enough numbers, by the millions, to shut down Washington DC., and stay there and shake our keys , until this communist/marxist/Democrat government comes down as it did in Checkoslovakia.

Democrats/Marxists/liberals Senators and Congressmen and Obmam are traitors against America. These DemocRATS are violating the U.S. Constitution. These marxist scumbags are imposing a socialist/communist government on the American people. The States must secede now. I demand freedom!

http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/196/38128/

We can beat them, Glenn.

GLENN Beck: How?

King: We can beat them in we fill this capital city full of patriotic Americans. In tens of thousands for into this city again, like they have numerous times before, pack this capital, jam this capital, surround this place, don't let anybody in or anybody out, they will have to capitulate. They'll have to tip over that and just say we just who despise

GLENN: When do they have to do this?

King: We have to this and

GLENN: But when? When?

PAT: Like, tomorrow?

King: It needs to be on Saturday at noon. If it could start today, that would be great. It needs to reach its crescendo at Saturday at noon and we need to keep that filled up and we'll know by Saturday the timing of the vote. We'll be able to bring our forces to bear then, too.

PAT: So, for sure they won't be voting on this today or tomorrow? We know that for sure?

King: We understand that anything could happen with this speaker, but they seem to be committed to the 72 hour rule of file the bill and then 72 hours before they would bring it to a vote. So, that means they can't vote before Sunday if they follow that rule and it looks like we'll have a debate on Saturday, perhaps, and then again a vote on Sunday. So, we have some we have some applications out for a permit to have a huge press conference and we're asking for that permit now. The timing is noon on Saturday and everybody that can come to this city makes a difference. They just cannot see the whites of our eyes and have the will to do this to the American people. They have to commit political suicide to vote for it, anyway, but still, they have to face their constituents the rest of their lives. I don't think they can do that. That's the one thing we can do to kill it at this point.
....
GLENN: Congressman Steve King is with us from Iowa and we were just talking about this off the air. I think it's Michelle Bachmann, Steve King, you know, this one brush with him, and Jim DeMint that I think are I mean, I don't know why I don't know Steve King, how we never brushed up against each other here. I mean, I don't mean to sound like

PAT: In a nontickle, nongroping way, right?

GLENN: So, Congressman King is calling for a gathering of as many Americans as possible Saturday at noon. We'll give you more information on that, but you said that this is Prague 1989. We've got about two minutes. Can you explain that?

KING: Well, I did. When we had the beginnings of the revolution, I mean, they lived under communism, of course, on the east side of the iron curtain and when the Berlin Wall came down November 9th of ‘89 and we saw freedom echo across Eastern Europe and head toward the Pacific Ocean, and in Czechoslovakia and Prague, people came to the town square and they just stood there and they held up their keys and shook their keys and the rattle of those keys was the rattle of the breath of liberty emerging in Czechoslovakia and there were so many of them and they came in such great numbers that in the end the communist government fell and freedom prevailed in Czechoslovakia and it prevails today. They did so peacefully, they did so because they answered the call and the rally. They filled their capital up and there was no way to maintain that government with all those people there that were asking to be represented, that the will of the people needed to be represented in the Czech government and it is today.

GLENN: I will tell you, Steve, that I think you're right. I will tell you that I think if people would do that and there were, you know, a million people in Washington, it would make a difference and I don't think you're picking Prague as an example or a communist country for you know, out of the air, because it's just one example. I think

KING: Glenn, it just inspired me to see that on television because that love of liberty that lives in the heart of every person came together in Prague.

http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/196/38128/

GLENN: Hang on just a second. Steve? You're telling me for sure there won't be one single republican that votes for this?

King: That's right. I am

GLENN Beck: I would like to say to the Republican party, thank you. Okay.

King: Thank you for saying that, Glenn. I really appreciate that.

Me:Glenn Beck , you said that there was no difference between the democrats/marxists and Republicans. Well Now you say this Glenn Beck you liberal/marxist faking deluded, hypocritical, scummy, peice of trash.

A photo exhibit kicks off the 20th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution and places events in a larger context

Historian Timothy Garton Ash said that in Poland the change from communism to capitalism took 10 years, in Hungary 10 months and in Czechoslovakia 10 days. November is the 20th anniversary of that “10-day” Velvet Revolution (Sametová revoluce) and opening Sept. 4 is “1989 Through the Eyes of Photographers,” an exhibition organized by Czech Press Photo. It marks the anniversary by bringing together the most memorable images from that period.

My husband and I talked it over and decided we needed to make this trip.

Our Congressman is 110% with us, and we'll be contacting his office to see if we can 'stop in' while we're there.

We have to leave this afternoon to get there, but IT WILL BE WORTH IT!

It's always of note when very, very recent sign ups get on threads to try to DISCOURAGE the patriots on this forum.

Defeatism is NOT an option. This will make a difference, and it is the RIGHT thing to do.

Naysayers, get lost!

Old Soviet joke

An old woman sees a line and gets in it. She asks the man in front of her
“What are we waiting on?”
The man says “We are to be shot in the head”
The women pauses and says “I stay in line but I bet they run out of bullets before I get there”

he seems to have the proper “fire in the belly” along with a terrier personality.

Might add he now has the maturity and a level of wisdom to recognize its time to speak out and moving more to the forefront, by chanced or by intent, plus is “non-politician” which does engender confidence in his purpose. Sort of the Charlton Heston with a touch of RWR persona.

Missed yhe forst one because of work.

Now I’m retired and I don’t think the second time around will be as effective, so I’m saving gas money for the real uprising.

80% of we the people do not want this crap but the gov. is hell bent on it.

It’s time to abolish and replace as we are directed to do by the constitution.

Like the dems say, “we believe that power comes from the barrel of a gun”

I hope they will hear you, but the press is your enemy.

Good Luck!

Leaving in about ten minutes, see all you patriots that can make it tomorrow! Those who cannot get there please say prayers, I think the prayers have a better chance than our protest, but we MUST protest.

Godspeed
