'Coffee party' debuts in West Palm Beach as 'anti-tea party'
The Palm Beach Post ^ | March 13, 2010 | George Bennett

WEST PALM BEACH — Venting about the conservative tea party movement and talking — at times heatedly — about the need for civility in public discourse marked the debut meeting of a local "coffee party" group today.

About 40 people showed up for the meeting at a Panera Bread restaurant, where organizer George Papison had booked a small room in expectation of a dozen or fewer.

The meeting was one of hundreds planned for today across the nation by Coffee Party U.S.A., a group that sprang from Facebook rantings against the tea party movement by filmmaker and Obama supporter Annabel Park.

"Frankly, we are petrified by the tea party and what they stand for and what they're talking about," said Monte Carmel, a retired business executive from West Palm Beach.

"I'm tired of all the misinformation, the cute little labels the fright-wing has thrown on everything," said a man named Russ.

"To me, government is the answer. I'm really sort of perplexed," said a man named Joe who said he had been a teacher for 44 years.

The age of civility{if there ever was one in politics} died when the left took power after the last election. We were civil when we were quiet, but now that we are standing up and fighting back,we are un-civil.
The attacks on personal freedoms and the unbrideled attacks on the things that made this country great have pissed off the American people.
They better live with it. The ram has touched the wall and there is no going back.

"The foundation of all of this is racism,"

So Bill Clinton , Al Gore and John Kerry are all black? America was up in arms against all three of them as well!

I love the moniker someone give the coffee party:

“Chock full of nuts.”

LOL

Anybody else notice how fast and hard the MSM picked up on this Libtard Coffee Party bunch? Anybody else compare their coverage of this group to the exposure they gave the Tea Baggers -- both in terms of quantity and bias? Anybody still dumb enough to trust the MSM when they report about anything?

Sounds like it’s time to pull your kids out of the public education system. Next you are going to hear that school teachers are banning tea and parties from school in fear!

I wonder how much the dems paid to get a few people in for free food... what a joke.

Thanks Rick Santelli - thanks for getting things started.

The 27-year-old social entrepreneur and nonprofit consultant works in sustainability. While a political philosophy major at Morehouse College in Atlanta, he started the Let's Raise a Million Project, which set out to bring low-income black communities into the green movement one compact fluorescent light bulb at a time.

This made me laugh from a previous post about the "Coffee Party".

Employ the socialist entity's tactics. I see an opportunity to infiltrate the enemy and destroy it from within.

Liberals are retarded. The Tea Party comes from the Boston Tea Party, a moment in our history. Where the heck is a Coffee Party in our history? Maybe this is a statement by liberals that they don’t know this country’s history and they couldn’t care less.

Good for them, if they want to organize I won’t criticize them. OTH, I think it will be another version of talk radio, it will go nowhere because the only belief they have is big government.
