The RINO McCain is in New Hampshire now campaigning for Kelly Ayotte, who is running for Senator from that state.
According to the Nashua Telegraph, he's also co-hosting a town hall with Ms. Ayotte.
The Boston Globe notes that the town hall meeting was
"reminiscent of those he held during his two presidential campaigns."
Fox News also reports that
McCain did over 100 townhall meetings leading up to the crucial "First in the Nation" New Hampshire Presidential Primary and won, once again becoming the GOP frontrunner.
So, my question for my fellow FReepers is, McCain's 2010 re-election race with J.D. aside, what happens if McCain wins in 2010 and then makes a power play to take the 2012 GOP nomination against Obama? What will you do? Whom will you support?
Even worse: what if McCain triangulates and runs alongside Romney?
It's been long past time to replace the RINO National Committee.
50 posts on something that absolutely positively will not happen.
The last Republican to win the nomination, lose the General Election and then get the nomination again was Tom Dewey in 1944 and 1948. We all know how that worked out.
The Democrats last tried that in 1952 and 1956 with Adlai Stevenson.
You get one shot once you get the nomination. You lose, it’s over. You are now an elder statesman.
John McCain is not going to run for President. IT WILL NOT HAPPEN. PERIOD.
Alien Space Bats could not make it happen.
Instead of 50 posts about a Senator with an ACU rating of 65. Let’s try stopping a President with an ACU rating of 8?
The tea party’s least favorite Republicans (McCain tops the list)

>>My reasoning is this: Obama is poised on being a lame-duck president
>
>In a little over a year he has destroyed the economy,
Wait, remind me again: who-all signed TARP into existence? Who allowed the takeover of the automotive companies? Who does the Constitution give the power to make bankruptcy laws? Who is it that makes the budget?
>singlehandedly lost the WOT (fulfilled his function as a decapitation strike on the US) and brought America to her knees.
The WOT I will agree with his lack of leadership, and more importantly lack of ALLOWING leadership, is definitely detrimental.
As for America to her knees, perhaps it’s the “sleeping giant” waking up. Honestly, I’d rather get things so bad that the people are willing to fight, violently, for their freedom than the apathy of just ‘stopping it.’
>I’d call him many things, but lame-duck isn’t one of them.
I didn’t say he was yet, just that he was poised there. Consider his constant “final push” for health-care, it’s only alienating people. Especially his unwillingness to actually negotiate it to something people can agree on.
>That term might be used for the American people giving him the keys to the nation.
See above.
Mc Cain does good in NH..I think the democrats can vote in the Rino primary there
>50 posts on something that absolutely positively will not happen.
I remember being told, here on FR, that ObamaCare was DEAD [and not coming back] a while back, after it failed around Christmas... what are they working on right now? Oh, right, ObamaCare.
This may be news for you, but the constitution is a dead letter. Nothing about this administration, or the democrats, or many republicans is constitutional. The last 50 years or so has been a long period of collusion between democrats and republicans with the aim of subverting the US under socialist/muslim rule. It is almost finished.
McCain will be very lucky to survive the challenge for the US Senate seat from JD Hayworth, but it's really stretching things to imagine that he'll ever again be chosen as the Republican standard bearer for President.
He's more unpopular now, among conservatives, than he was before the 2008 election. He's waaaaaay past his prime, and really just needs to retire to the golf course. He will not be able to attract much support without a shining star standing next to him (as Sarah Palin was).
Need I go on?
All the more reason to defeat McCain in the upcoming primary. He is spawning RINO clones which will destroy the conservatives’ ability to govern in the future just like he hobbled conservative agenda items in the last 10 plus years.
I hope not.

>This may be news for you, but the constitution is a dead letter.
Which is WHY the American people need to awaken.
>Nothing about this administration, or the democrats, or many republicans is constitutional.
And that may soon change; if we as a people say “NO! The Evil is UNSUFFERABLE!”
>The last 50 years or so has been a long period of collusion between democrats and republicans with the aim of subverting the US under socialist/muslim rule.
And?
>It is almost finished.
The same could be said of human history. Jesus IS coming back for Armageddon.
I seriously doubt McCain will run or get the nomination if he does. He’d be 76 in 2012. He would be about a year and a half younger at the beginning of his administration than Ronald Reagan was at the end of his administration.
You seem angry...not at all proud of your support for the rats.
Let me put it this way: I *KNOW* Obama wont agree or listen to me; I dont want the illusion that my leader will listen to me, which is what wed get with Romney/McCain, Ive had too much of the *nod, nod* Im listening to you; and I agree. only to have the leader do exactly the opposite.
You don't think rats lie, and you believe they are great listeners too. I got it now. Thanx
Thanks for this. I just threw up a little in my mouth.
He ain't running for Prez again.
>You seem angry...not at all proud of your support for the rats.
And why should I be? I said that I would vote for Obama before McCain; but I could always vote third-party... Oh, I forgot, that IS voting for Obama. [/sarc]
>You don’t think rats lie, and you believe they are great listeners too. I got it now. Thanx
Hell no. They just don’t even pretend they’re listening and say “I’m going to do it MY way.” In all, it’s far more honest than the republican stance of “we hear you; fiscal responsi.. oh, look, let’s spend on this shiny new thing.”
In other words, the Democrats are at least truthful about their party’s planks and will tend towards them even against constituents. Republicans, on the other hand, claim (for example) to be anti-abortion, having it on their stated list of planks; yet, during the six-years they were the majority (with Bush in office) they didn’t even so much as propose federally illegalizing abortion... no they were too busy spending money that we didn’t/don’t have! IOW, they are only “FOR” fiscal responsibility or the life of the unborn when it comes to getting elected.
We can see this now even. Instead of stamping a foot down and bringing up the Constitutionality issues on EVERY POSSIBLE POINT in an effort to block-and-defeat a WIDELY unpopular “healthcare reform” bill they’re putting on a show of how hard they “tried” but “because of some people not toeing-the-party line it happened anyway...” OR maybe “we couldn’t do anything, the rules were changed on us.”
>You seem angry...
Why aren’t you?
>Thanks for this. I just threw up a little in my mouth.
Can I write-in a shot-glass of that vomit for my vote?
It would probably make a better president. [/cynic]
