Sarah Palin raising cash for John McCain

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is helping out her former running mate with a high dollar fundraiser at the Arizona Biltmore.

Palin will be courting contributions for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) – the GOP’s 2008 presidential nominee – on March 23 as part of her swing through Arizona to aide his re-election campaign.

For $2,500, McCain donors can attend an hour-long reception with the former GOP vice presidential nominee and get a chance for a picture with Palin.

Those not attending the reception can pay $500 each for a two-hour dinner, or $1,000 for preferred seating.

Sen. Jon Kyl (R-Ariz.), along with Arizona GOP Reps. Jeff Flake, Trent Franks and John Shadegg will also be at the fundraiser.

Absolutely you have a right to your opinion and the right to say what it is. I think she thinks McCain is her kind of conservative. He is not as conservative as some and I think she likes that. There is nothing wrong with that. Everyone does not have to agree with her. I do not think she expects them to nor does she really care. Again, as long as she had the courage of her convictions I respect her.She is not obligated to any of us. Nor obviously does she think she is. And that is a good thing.

You know it was Ronald Reagan who first gave amnesty to illegals. George W. Bush campaigned on amnesty and a path to citizenship for illegals. Does not matter if we agree with them. They did not change their beliefs according to polls. And who is tougher on those who change according to polls than we are? And we should be.

I just hope this support "debt" is finished soon. Sarah is not winning anything with this crap.

I honestly can't imagine what she hopes to gain, if anything. McCain didn't even support her while she was his own running mate, for cryin' out loud. Does she think this will make him return the support at some point?

I just don't get it.

May be you should petition the owner of this forum to ban us all, we are not needed on this forum and for certain we will not impact at all his fundraising. He can start with me.

Well, why don't you ask Jim directly if he won't start with you?

Ok, I’ve had my gripes with McCain over the years.....but McCain has been one of the most aggressive members of the opposition to Obama’s agenda. When you say McCain is as bad as Obama, you’re straining credibility, big time.

At least she is speaking out about this! If she could only encourage McAmnesty to do the same..it would be a natural for him ! But he would rather side with the ‘rats & Zer0 to close Gitmo!

She is last in line. Every conservative talk show has been raising money for legal fees.

“I just hope this support “debt” is finished soon. Sarah is not winning anything with this crap.”

If we can get rid of McCain in this primary, she won’t have to worry about supporting him any longer. That’s probably the nicest gift we could ever give Palin, not to mention the USA.

To: Retain Mike

“John Mc Cain had to call Sarah Palin for her support in the primary. She could have easily said no.

On the subject of Sarah Palin campaigning for Sen. John McCain, I go back to when George W. Bush campaigned for Arlen Specter in Pennsylvania’s primary election. I decided then that national figures could campaign in a state during the general election for any state or national office. However, during the primary cycle it should be up to people and organizations representing people in the state to make the case.

Palin owes McCain nothing. She was the only bright spot in a failed campaign, and he treated her terribly. McCain forces granted her such selective influence as might increase their daily polling numbers, and then blamed her for their lack of success. It seems to me the loyalty issue is a guilt card one may or may not play successfully within the political class, which seldom displays integrity. I believe any association with McCain has and will only degrade Palin.”

Spot on!

McCain is scum!

How many prominent republicans are sounding the trumpet for the seals? I’d love to hear if Bush, Cheney, McCain, McDonnell, Romney ... maybe some of them did, I don’t know.

Fine. I just don’t want to see you screaming about McCain or Grahamnesty then. The fact is, Palin has made a lot of missteps. Every time she does something wonderful, like the Leno appearance or the Tea Party speech, she takes a step back with something bone-headed like this fundraising. It reaffirms my view that she does not have good advisers.
