Glenn Beck calls Geert Wilders a fascist, endorses ban on his entering UK
Jihad Watch ^ | 9 March 10 | Robert Spencer

What on earth has gotten into Beck? Is he getting his talking points from Ibrahim Hooper? As Pamela Geller says, "Why would he stigmatize Wilders this way? Wilders is the embodiment of what our founding fathers extolled. Individual rights. Freedom of speech. Not sharia law."

Beck should have more sense.

Crap on Beck, right? If you (all) haven’t heard any of Wilders’ speeches, here is a great recent one and words we should heed now in this country.

Krauthammer comes out of a statist New Deal Democrat tradition as do the rest of the neocons. That’s why supported Scoop Jackson as a way station to Reagan. He only supported Reagan because he thought Reagan was morelikely than Carter to support policing the world.

Just filthy ‘rumors’.

I didn't say that. You need to grow up a little.

BTW, I am aware of what Pam Geller says about this matter and I am also aware that Murdoch is using Alwaleed to gain access to Saudi programming market (and seems to have the upper hand).

I don't know if you have any business experience, but this kind of interaction doesn't mean that Murdoch is selling FoxNews' integrity as part of the deal.

As I said earlier (though you seem to have ignored it), I didn't say what you said was untrue, just that more information is needed to evaluate it.

Based on what I have provided below (Pam Geller's concerns to the contrary), there doesn't seem to be enough evidence to prove anything but that Murdoch is using Alwaleed to expand into new markets.

Here is a better source than Atlas for the subject at hand (I think everyone is fully aware of this matter and it doesn't mean that the Saudi's control News Corp)...

Saudi's Alwaleed, Murdoch Discuss Alliances

By MOHAMMED ALY SERGIE And ANDREW CRITCHLOW

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia—Saudi billionaire investor Prince Alwaleed bin Talal held meetings this week with News Corp. Chairman and Chief Executive Rupert Murdoch to discuss investments, including Rotana Media, according to a statement from the prince's office Saturday.

The meetings, which took place in New York on Jan. 14, "touched upon future potential alliance with News Corp.," the statement said, adding that Rotana and LBCSAT, 90% owned by Prince Alwaleed, were discussed.

Nezar Nagro, president of Rotana Media Services, said in December a deal that would see News Corp. buy 10% of the existing shares in the company could be completed this month.

The statement on Saturday from Prince Alwaleed's office gave no further details of a potential deal. A spokesperson for News Corp. was unreachable for comment.

Rotana, which hosts News Corp.'s Fox channels in Saudi Arabia via its television network, owns rights to more than 2,000 Arabic movies and the world's largest Arabic language music library, according to Zawya.com data.

The company manages some of the Arab world's most popular artists, including Egyptian pop star Amr Diab and Lebanese divas Elissa and Haifa Wehbe. According to Ipsos MediaCT, Rotana ranks amongst the top five channels for advertising revenue in Saudi, the Gulf's most populous Arab nation.

Over the past two decades Prince Alwaleed, through his Riyadh-listed conglomerate Kingdom Holding Co. , has focused his investments on banks, hotels and media firms, building sizable stakes in companies like Citigroup Inc., News Corp., Apple Inc. and Time Warner Inc.

News Corp. owns Dow Jones & Co., publisher of The Wall Street Journal and WSJ.com.

On Dec. 7, Zawya Dow Jones reported that News Corp. was close to completing a deal to buy a stake in Rotana, which is wholly owned by Prince Alwaleed. A News Corp. spokesperson in London declined to comment at the time.

Shares in Kingdom Holding, majority owned by Prince Alwaleed, were amongst the biggest risers on the Saudi Tadawul exchange Saturday, up 10%.

LOL

When are you people going to stop taking Beck seriously?

Beck is just another tool. A marketable tool, but a tool.

No anti-Islamic coverage will be tolerated.

You don't seem to be a long-time listener. Beck spent about a thousand shows on the twelth Imman. Then again, the Saudi's hate the Shi'ites in Iran so your point might be true in a weird way. Beck is driven by ratings, nothing more.

“Your contractual agreement may have been nothing more than an options...”

Oh its not my contractual agreement now is it?

“You accuse Murdoch of entering into a contract without...”

Man - there is no accusation. I’d call it a fact. I’d also say your face is red, but I’m wondering why you’d be interested in protecting Murdoch? I assure you - he really doesn’t care that you are defending him.

“And while you are on the subject...reliability of source is an important matter for serious people.”

Reliability of source is relative to the listener, is it not? Some may say MSNBC or CNN or even the beloved Foxnews is reliable. Good luck with ALL of the MSM media. It is not news....it is propoganda.

Enough about all this....

Glenn Beck like George W. Bush and many others supports the view that islam is “a religion of peace”. If islam really was a religion of peace then most of its adherents would be peaceful and most of its extremists would be extremely peaceful.

Perhaps Mr. Beck just needs a reality check regarding the “peaceful religion” islam. He can get one easily enough by visiting sites like Jihad Watch or Atlas Shrugs and others. There was even a time when he could have gotten some of his reality check by watching the Fox News Channel. But not so much anymore.

Which may explain why Mark Steyn isn’t invited on Fox more often.

I listen to Beck on radio and less & less on TV and he has good moments albeit less frequently now.

He & Paul are idiots - just a different type of idiots. Beck's 3rd party push got tiring and he's become BOR, part 2.

I'm just interested in the truth...not some nut screaming irrationally "HALP CONTRACTS...WE'RE DOOMED"!

Son....

You brought this one on yourself:

Here you are telling me that THE WALL STREET JOURNAL “is a better source than Atlas for the subject at hand (I think everyone is fully aware of this matter and it doesn’t mean that the Saudi’s control News Corp)...”

THE WALL STREET JOURNAL IS OWNED BY MURDOCH!!!!!!!! (as you know).
You expect me to believe it just because it comes out of one of his OWN papers!

This proves the point to perfection. You are defending something from within itself. Do you ever leap beyond the expanses of Murdoch ‘news’?

Maybe you need to read more about the nature of Islam. What fool signs contracts with the hub of Islam? You need to answer this and nothing else. Don’t answer for me - answer for you!
Notwithstanding the FACT that our country is signing with them just about every day - the results of which we will regret.

Man this is silly. You speak of “Foxnews integrity” like you own a piece of it. It is more like Foxnews agenda. They have an agenda. If you believe differently, then you are again, OWNED. I’m sorry....I used to be a devout Fox fan myself, but no more. I grew up. I’m done here.

“Brain fart. He has ‘em every now and then - who doesn’t?”

Beck is a sensationalist. Everything he does, he does for ratings. He is an entertainer, not someone to be taken seriously. Much of what he says is spot on, but his style is nauseating. I can't get though a whole show without changing the channel. He is a loudmouthed jerk who thinks way too highly of himself and has a listening disorder.

You brought this one on yourself:

lol...this is no big deal.

I was only looking for a source.

Going back to the beginning of our chat...I never said that what you said was incorrect (in fact, in one of my earliest post I said you might very well be correct, but I would like to review info provided by your source--it was your insecurities that presumed otherwise).

As for defending Fox...I am very much concerned that Fox might soften its heretofore heroic stand against Obama and Islam. But I don't think Murdoch's transactions with Alwaleed for access to the Saudi market necessarily provide evidence for it. Nor do I think Alwaleeds minority ownership of Fox demands it.

OTOH, Murdoch is human and as such is subject to influence.

My point in the final analysis is that I like to look long and hard at the evidence, and for that I do appreciate your providing me with the Atlas link. Thx.

Hi, I don’t know much about Wilders but I know Glenn is wrong about the birthers too. So I will keep an open mind. We have gotta be relentless about uncovering the truth...

Beck has no coherent belief system that would give his ideas a sense of consistency.

That about sums up my impressions.

I really like some of his shows that I've watched on youtube, but I get the feeling that he has no real hard philosophical underpinning that shapes his worldview.  No "X and Y are fundamental truths, and the logical consequences of same is Z" He's read enough of the founders to not sound totally mad, but I think he needs to start from first principles and work his way through his philosophy to find where it leads him.

Thank you, Yehuda.

In your linked article by ADAM BRICKLEY of the Weekly Standard, Brickley points out that Wilder's has been "denounced as a fascist, and largely blacklisted throughout Europe due to his staunch and outspoken opposition to militant Islam."

So, let's get this straight. Wilders vociferously denounces militant Islam and campaigns against Muslim immigration into his country and that makes him a fascist?
