Rep. Eric Massa, D-N.Y., under investigation for alleged sexual harassment of a male staffer, accused House Democratic leaders of lying about the charges against him and using them to run him out of Congress because he voted against health care reform when it last came before the House.
Roll Call reports this morning that on the local radio show he hosts in his district, Massa said he had not been informed of the sexual harassment allegations before they became public. He claimed that Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., spoke falsely when he said he had brought the matter to him previously, Massa said. Steny Hoyer has never said a single word to me, at all, ever, not once," Massa said. "Not a word. This is a lie. Its a blatant, false statement."

Reminds me of an episode of an Aliens movie, the Aliens kill one of their own to get the acid blood to make an escape route for them.

Why bring out the popcorn? Do you really think the MSM is going to let anyone hear this? Do you think he will be on the morning shows? The Sunday shows? The news in general?
Massa will be lucky if he is able to get an audiance with his mother at this point. The corrupt MSM will bury him.

Ann Coulter on Fox - comparing the MSM sitting on the Foley scandal until it hurt the GOP elections...while the Massa scandal is *out* early enough for the DEMs to recover.
Additionally, all of Foley’s emails were published ad nauseum - while we still do not know precisely what activity Massa is accused of.

THe more practical question is this: how long will it be before the Dems can come up with a replacement... or can this district be taken from them in a special election?

Anyone surprised?
This was an obvious scam against this congressman from the start.
The person making the charges had been fired a while back and was willing to do the wrong thing.

Why didn't he hang in there??? Or he could have become a Republican and gotten enough attention for the story to be able to publicly defend himself.
According to Dick Morris, there is another no vote who miraculously had a federal investigation against him dropped by Holder and now guess what? He's a YES! Gee, what principles. ME FIRST.

Massa is lying through his teeth. You couldn’t get a scenario such as he claims unless you had a cabal of Chicago politicians running national politics. Ah....wait a minute. Please cancel prior statement. How silly of me.

Massa is a liberal moonbat; in fact, he voted against Obamacare because it wasn’t liberal enough. Maybe he could switch to the Greens, but that wouldn’t do him much good, either.

A special election is necessary for House seats. As the district is the most conservative in NY State (in an Upstate district), it’s highly unlikely that this stays in Dem control.
Whether it becomes an R seat before the health care vote is unlikely - as Gov. Paterson (D) controls the date of the special election.
