Vermont goes from having the best 2nd Amendment position to dead last with a single bill. Fight it. The upcoming Supreme Court case may result in incorporation of the 2nd. That will surely have an impact as this bill is a direct infringement.

"Due to an outpouring of opposition, new language is being circulated that could eliminate the concerns of gun owners and sportsmen. I don't know, maybe replacing all elected officials and then the bureaucrats that serve them might be a good start in eliminating the concerns of the electorate after the next election.

So much for moving to Vermont. I probably can’t afford Maine’s taxes...what about New Hampshire? Is N.H. sane?

Stupid law intended to disarm gun owners. Lead in soil has been studied extensively and it has been scientifically proven that lead leaches about 3 inches from a bullet AND NO FURTHER. Lead oxide is NOT water soluble.

There are already lead free bullets in any caliber you’d like.
They cost more, of course...

GOOD NEWS! UPDATE ON H484
Due to the lobbying efforts of Gun Owners of Vermont and other pro-gun groups of Vermont and due to all the phone calls from concerned gun owners throughout the state,H484 has been amended to provide an exemption for lead products pertaining to hunting and fishing.(Originally this bill proposed to require the secretary of natural resources to establish a toxic chemical identification and reduction program in which lead could have been targeted.)
Another disturbing feature of H484 was found on page 7 stating that if a certain chemical is banned in another state then it automatically becomes law here. This was also changed to read "it could be recommended" that Vermont would do the same.
Once again, thank you to all who took the time to call Montpelier. Phone calls make a difference!!

This type of legislation has been defeated every time. there have been 11 other states attempting this and they have failed in the courts, who hold these laws surreptitiously violate the 2nd amendment.
Worrisome? Sure, but it will be defeated if enacted.
