When Rep. Young spoke to the CPG townhall on the “critical habitat for Beluga whales” last week, I was more impressed with him than I have ever been. The meeting was VERY informative, and well attended. As I say, I was impressed.
Did he also say “the sun rises in the East”?

Light hours coming back, above zero, they are suppose to open our road out in late March, before ya know it we’ll be eating Spring ducks.
The sun is lovely, as is the breakup weather. I hate the idea of the generated ice when it cools off.
One of the digs against Don Young is the “bring home the bacon” side. It’s nice but we need fiscal conservatism brought back to Washington DC. It can’t always start with the “other guys”.
I miss the hunting near Chena.

Sounds just like the Don Young we all know and love. This really isn’t news. It’s just Don saying what he thinks, and he’s thought for a long time now that global warming is a collection of moose nuggets.
By the way, 37 degrees here at the banks of the Yukon River today with a nice sun trying climb a little higher in the sky than yesterday. A little unusual, but not so much so, and I expect the cold to reassert itself any time within the next 20 minutes and remain cold until the middle of May.
Another buddy lives 22 miles out Chena road; quite high moose density out there nowadays. He gets a nice bull & a grizz every season out there.
My nephew is coming up in sept to get a bou and hope for a moose. He was suppose to be in Afgan right now, but not there yet, so not sure. He'll probably get sent over just about August, ha. My nephew has been up here before and says he plans on trying to get stationed in Anch. Only place his MOS is in Fla & Anch; Para Rescue in AF. So hope he makes it up to kill some caribou.
Anyway, I couldn't imagine living anywheres else; couldn't fit in after 20 years in Alaska.
Most of Alaska is the last free place in America.
THe weather has been odd, some kind of loop in the jet stream.
THe cold will be back soon enough.

McCain has many bad points. But he was probably the only one who would be able to do anything against all this pork and Americans decided they’d rather have Obama.
He supports card check too. I wrote him a letter on it and got a really lame response.
