When rubber must meet road, the GOP is as clear as the mud in a Louisiana swamp. Oh, they talk a good game; but, in the end, they act no different than the Democrats. Somewhere in Washington D.C. there must exist a vast graveyard of detached spines... since I have yet to encounter a sitting Republican who is still in possession of his, and the Democrats never had one to begin with except when it comes to screwing the American people then they are indefatigable juggernauts, while the Republicans practice their knitting.
The GOP is infested by a cabal of political whores, whom stand for nothing but themselves, and these sorry excuses for leadership would sell the store if not for a few lone conservative voices crying in the wilderness. Oh, say can you see that platform of conservative ideas? Please, spare me that drivel. The GOP now admits into its ranks every idea, except if it wears the conservative label ... then the moniker we conservatives find pinned to our lapels is not an American flag, but rather the pejoratives of extreme, fringe, "tea bagger," etc. The only time the ears of the GOP leadership unclog is after they loose an election, but then, unfortunately, their lucidity is always a temporary phase. They are soon over it.
So the GOP leadership never goes home with the one who brought them to the dance. Instead, led by effeminate intellectual poltroons, they play political football in the best tradition of Lucy Van Pelt and Charlie Brown. That is why in the past 20 years their accomplishments for the cause of conservatism would not fill a dairy bucket ... and we conservatives end up flat on our backs, dazed and wondering what hit us. This sociopathic relationship explains why America is still cursed with abortion on demand, homosexual rights now including gay marriage, an industrial base gone AWOL, a collapsed financial system, a fascist-inclined authoritarian oligarchy for government, and a national debt that, if its worthless fiat currency were laid end to end, the greenback road would reach the Moon. In the political arena of ideas, when push comes to shove, the Republicans have fallen and they just cant get it up.
Oh, we do brag about NJ and VA and... OMG! Massachusetts! However, have any here examined the rest of Scott Browns positions? They are hardly the rock solid stuff of conservatism; but rather read like the equivocating ambiguities of RINO doublespeak. Or do any delude them selves into thinking that Massachusetts suddenly went conservative? So, while most are cheering because Senator Brown will cast a vote against Obamacare, just what will be the response of these same individuals once their newly adopted Massachusetts son starts casting his senate votes in the same vein as John McCain?
More pointedly towards John McCains present electoral contest, and since I am in a mood to raise hackles, will some prescient individual please explain why it must be that Sarah Palin is supporting the re-election of this treacherous RINO jackass? What was that I stated a few rants ago about lucidity? I wonder whether all is completely lost, when even Sarah sings the song of sell-out.
Most who claim the GOP their home seem no better than those tyrannical socialists with whom too many Republicans conveniently never fail to play political footsie. The unfortunate reality explains why, no matter which political party holds majority power, the progressive agenda never looses an inch of ground, while conservatives barely tread water, if not outright sink beneath the waves of socialism that pound this republic without pause. Grand Old Party? More accurately it is a grand old circle jerk ... and we are the jerks for allowing these frauds to continue their RINO shenanigans. It is time we strung a few up from the light poles just so to remind them of who it is they are to serve. But when last did we ever witness unselfish devotion to duty in a politician?
America has politicians plenty, but not statesmen. Rather we are adorned with impotent poltroons, whom will just as quickly thrust a wet finger into the air (and up our collective hind quarters) so to test the political trade winds, as would ever dare their contemporaries across the ideological aisle. To a progressive, there is no better fantasy than that of co-opting ... er, uh ... cooperating with their opponents. Uphold the truth? Dang, boy ... where you been? Thats idealistic; we need expediency!
In the GOP leadership there are many, and in particular the person of that fork-tongued clueless coward, Michael Steele, who would shank their grandmothers if such betrayal would gain for them electoral points with those who are the enemies of individual liberty. After all, we simply MUST have bi-partisanship! Who would dare think to stand on principle? Thats so outdated! How else do you explain tolerance for such RINO traitors the likes of John McCain, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, Alan Specter, et al?
Now, come 2012, is the GOP going to once again put on a conservative smile while selling us another phony? Mitt Romney is being groomed again for yet another run. His sideshow did not pass the smell test in 2008, but that fact will not stop the schmucks in the GOP leadership from making the attempt at flying their worn-out lead zeppelin over the conservative base. Lets spin crash and burn ... one more time boys!
An elephant is supposed to never forget. Unfortunately, the GOP leadership never learns anything to begin with.
Have you a link to this ‘News’ item???
Thanks.
The RNC and its State & County versions should be demanding that ALL Republican incumbents debate their Primary challengers. The Party, at all levels should withhold Party $$$ to incumbents that WON’T debate a Primary Challenger.
BUMP
Don’t give ANYTHING to the party. Give to candidates. Megabuck donors have ONE vote each. We, on the other hand, have many.
Fred Barnes describes the situation in the February 15 issue of “The Weekly Standard, “ as seen through the eyes of George LeMieux, the interim Senator from Florida. Le Mieux believes that if the budget were reduced to the 2007 level then our ship would right itself. But Congress won’t do that. Earmarks drive the train. Members vote for an bill however large so long as they get their cut. Except for DeMint and Coburn, they won’t do this.
Excellent! Keep saying this. Everyone keep this message alive, pass it around!
A link? I am the author of the article... How do I link to myself? ;)
Republicans lately have been voting in a solid block against the RATS. You’ve picked an odd time to be mad. Of course when the primaries come around the eight Republicans who did vote for cap and trade should have their careers capped by trading them out.
Nice rant... AND a Guinness drinker. There’s yet hope for the Republic.
I’d rather try to find the Level at which the Party wants to represent it’s members.
If my County or State Republican Chapters are demanding that Republican Incumbents debate their Primary Opponents, I could donate to the GROUP.
Now is the time to get on the ballot to be elected Precinct Committeeman, your help will be welcomed by those of us who have spent years, on the inside trying to correct what you describe.
We really need your help.
You don’t. You are a wordsmith, TCH. Excellent post.
Can someone please explain what the motivation is of the vanity police? I can understand not having an anarchic open forum, but I assumed that’s what moderators are for. If someone has something cogent and well-written to say, I for one enjoy reading it.
I could tell you, but unless you have fleece lined Speedo's (hot pink Speedo's and prisoner orange fleece), rubber goggles, a patten leather full face mask and access to a goat or 30lbs of sparrow feathers, it just would not be worth the effort.
LOL - I was just about to post exactly this, but you beat me to it.
BTW, a wee dram or two of Talisker scotch makes an excellent preliminary for Guinness chasers... just sayin'...
McCain is is the big daddy vampire who “made” the rest. Put a stake through his heart and you’ve wiped out a big part of the nest.
Yeah, I hear Rush say that, too. Yet the only instance ha can come up with is the health care bill. He never mentions Graham and McCain's support for Cap and Trade.
Voting records show that the last decade flies in the face of Rush's (and your) claim.
Especially when the GOP had both Houses and the WH.
Only one Republican Senator out of the forty can be said to have voted for the “Health Care” bill.
Never tried Talisker but I do enjoy Glenfiddich or glenlivet on occasion. Also Red Stripe beer which is my wife’s national brew.
