Responding to this post, a reader e-mails with a handy round-up of MSM attempts to tie Joe Stack to the tea-party movement:
Subject: NY times first MSM'er to make the "Tea Bag" connection They had to stretch back 20 years to do it, but their crack researchers came thru in a pinch.
In April 1990, a firebomb packed with a tea bag a reference to the Boston Tea Party and addressed to the I.R.S. was placed in the mail in Royal Oak, Mich. It exploded, injuring a postal worker.
And while they appear to make it look like its all about anti-government and anti-IRS, they fail to mention his anti-Catholicism, anti-Bushism, anti-capitalism and pro-communism.
I guess it doesnt fit the preferred narrative.
NY Mag piles on
In fact, a lot of his rhetoric could have been taken directly from a handwritten sign at a tea party rally.
WaPo's Capehart chimes in...
But after reading his 34-paragraph screed, I am struck by how his alienation is similar to that we're hearing from the extreme elements of the Tea Party movement."
Then Time slips this one in not so subtly:
Toward the end of what appears to be his final note, Stack wrote, 'Well, Mr. Big Brother IRS man, let's try something different; take my pound of flesh and sleep well.' (See the making of the Tea Party movement.)
So it goes...

Austin is a magnet for left wing nuts.
Personally I think someone needs to look into the IRS agents that were making this guys life a living hell.
Being Austin, I wouldn't be surprised to find a bunch of left wing nuts in the IRS abusing their authority.

Amy Bishop killed three African-Americans.I like to think I'm fairly well read and I didn't know that at all.

Amy Bishop killed three African-Americans. A fact that the MSM does not promote. Two of them appear to be. Gopi Podila appears to be of south Asian ancestry. All three of the wounded survivors appear to be white.

No—I don’t have the radio on yet—but great heavens!
Well the poor demented pilot wasn’t the last of Austin’s crazies—by a long shot!
Thanks for the heads up—I’ll turn it on.

You're mostly correct. I should clarify my statment since it's not entirely accurate. Sorry about that. Here's what I found:
"On the other hand, the media has had no interest at all in the question of race, although Bishop shot almost every non-white faculty member in the department. (She also shot and wounded two white victims, a professor and a staff member.) She killed both African-American professors in the department (one of whom was too junior to have had anything to do with Bishops tenure decision). She killed the department chair, who was ethnically South Asian. A Latino faculty member was wounded. There may only be two non-white faculty left in the department. Whether she intended it or not, Amy Bishop effected a racial purge of the Alabama Huntsville biology department. But the press isnt interested in asking whether or not she intended it. Perhaps the question isnt exotic enough."

Hundreds of thousands who read his screed agree:
Joe Stack was a lefty.
He ended his ramblings with this - a clear attack on capitalism:
The communist creed: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.
The capitalist creed: From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed.

Joe Stack was: anti-corporations, anti-religion, pro-health care reform, and a tax cheat.
Sounds like a moonbat to me!

Joe Stack was: anti-corporations, anti-religion, pro-health care reform, and a tax cheat. And despite all his woes with the IRS and complaints about "social justice" he was still flying around in his own private plane. Certainly sounds like a moonbat progressive to me. Taxes are for the little guy and anybody richer or poorer than he.

Joe Stack was a lefty. I can't tell from my brief online searches, but does anyone know for certain what political party might this genuine creep have affiliated and registered?

It is beginning to appear that he got the person he was after in the building. The authoritites are so hush, hush about who was killed, it’s becoming obvious Stack hit his target.

Vernon Hunter was a supervisor at the IRS office. He must have been Stack’s target.
