Responding to this post, a reader e-mails with a handy round-up of MSM attempts to tie Joe Stack to the tea-party movement:

And while they appear to make it look like it’s all about anti-government and anti-IRS, they fail to mention his anti-Catholicism, anti-Bushism, anti-capitalism and pro-communism.
I guess it doesn’t fit the preferred narrative.
“In fact, a lot of his rhetoric could have been taken directly from a handwritten sign at a tea party rally.”

Then Time slips this one in not so subtly:

So it goes...
I’ve taken to responding to the “teabag” moniker by referring to those consumed with hate for the movement as feltchers. I use the word to mean lying about and vitriolic hatred for the tea-party movement. There may be other understandings of the word available online at the urban dictionary, but just like the other side, I don’t mean it that way. But they’re feltchers just the same.
If the O-Media discovers that Amy Bishop ever had just one cup of tea, she’ll be called a Tea Party member.
One of the O-”news” channels declared Stack’s rampage as “an act of domestic terrorism”, “absolutely”....
what about Ft Hood?
what about Bill Ayres?
what about Amy Bishop?
etc etc etc
It is sickening.

One caller even said, and I kid you not, “that the 1st amendment needs to be repealed, and all Right Wing Radio host should all be arrested”.
They picked apart the manifesto only quoting parts that made him sound like a person from the Right, ignoring the Communist manifesto, the anger against Bush, the anger against not passing Health Care reform, and the rest.
