RICHMOND, FEB. 9 -- The House of Delegates is scheduled to vote Wednesday on a bill that would protect Virginians from attempts by employers or insurance companies to implant microchips in their bodies against their will.
It might also save humanity from the antichrist, some supporters think.

By the time this mark becomes reality, Barack Obama will be a distant memory.

Anyone who has ever had dealings with the Virginia DMV knows what a bad idea these implants would be.

People would line up today to have their children micro-chipped. In our community they have them fingerprinted so mom can drop them off at the pool and the kids don’t have to keep track of their pool card. I asked one of those moms if she would be okay with a chip and she said “sure.”

Very disturbing that somehow this law even needs to be contemplated. Never mind that existing law certainly would already forbid it.

The implants are going to be literal hell for anyone who does get them when the time comes when the mark actually means something.
To: Mercat
There will be many glittering, rosy reasons given to take the mark when it first gets introduced to the world.
Not having to keep a bunch of different cards (insurance, debit, credit, library, etc.) will most probably be one of them.
To: GiovannaNicoletta
If islam had a prophecy about receiving a mark and the muslims thought that a chip was that mark, the WaPo would be all in favor if exempting muslims from the chip in interests of religious freedom.
But, let some Christians have the same concern and it’s a cause for ridicule.

And I’m going to trust non-cited scientific “facts” as related by someone who can’t spell “incidence”... especially since Free Republic has a built-in spellchecker...
