HUNTSVILLE, AL (WAFF) - Police said a female member of the UA-Huntsville staff shot and killed three co-workers on campus.
Huntsville Police, Madison County Sheriff's department and HEMSI responded to a shooting at the UAH campus at 4:00 Friday afternoon.
The shooting happened in the Shelby Center, a math and science classroom building.
Authorities said a female faculty member during a Biology faculty meeting learned she would not receive tenure. She then pulled out a gun and started shooting.

Well, I think that’s it for her chances at tenure.
Prayers for the victims and their families!
Ah, finally a woman that N.O.W. can rally behind. (as long as the victims were males)
I hate it when that happens. Learning about being denied tenure should definitely be timed to a non-PMS time.
No, I’m aware of that, and assumed it. She was up for tenure, having presumably been in the department for several years (not necessarily three in every department) and didn’t get it.
Or if she had taught several years elsewhere, it’s possible that she could have been considered sooner. Normally you need to get tenure after six years in one place. When you come into a new department, it’s usually negotiable how many years of teaching in other departments will count toward tenure.
What I said, is that this probably seemed like the end of the line to her when she was turned down and probably saw no other options.
Police also have the alleged shooter’s husband in custody. He has not been formally charged with anything.
Guessing that she knew this was coming because she had a gun on her and was ready to use it in a department meeting?
I think the point was that humanism, atheism and evolution tend to point to mankind as living tissue and nothing more. The Bible teaches we are created in the image of God and have worth and life itself is precious. The pro-abortion teachings de-humanize sensitivities about the horror of murder.
Good news.
Premeditated murder with a handgun on a gunfree college campus by a female liberal teacher over rage at being denied power.
Response from the MSM and NOW: *crickets*
Just what you don’t want - another LUNATIC, posing as a TEACHER! Amazing. LIBERALS are UNBALANCED!
Harvard University “trained” neuroscientist (per fox)
husband also in custody
Thanks for the info. I know in my Fathers time, if you had
tenure and wanted to go to another University and was
accepted, you were granted tenure immediately.
I am convinced that liberalism is a mental illness.beyond a shaddow of a doubt to boot
“Really, you’re blaming this on Darwin?
Idiot.”
Interesting how you jump straight to a dehumanization, sub-primary slur. The stock-in-trade of the darwinist. Someone has an opinion that differs from yours, and you must slur their intellect.
That’s really very sad.
This is another of those “gun free zone” multiple killings. So sad.....
Makes me long for the old days at University of Chicago, early in 1969, when Radical Lefty Sociology lecturer Marlene Dixon did not get tenure (for all the obvious reasons, like no publications and shaky research), and all her ‘supporters’ did was take over the Adminstration Building. Smoked cigars, put their feet up on the desks, messed things up, called for ‘fortifications’, (mainly peanut butter and jelly sandwiches) , then got tired of the whole thing when, after two weeks, the crackdown never came, and they simply left the building, disgruntled and unsatisfied.I was there, twice, as a bemused observer, and marvelled at how closely the template followed the images directly from Cuba when Castro and his group took over Havana. Especially the cigars.
Edward Levi, the new President of the University, did the counterintuitive thing and just let them stew in their own juices. He was also Nixon’s Atty.
General , I don’t remember whether before or after.
Didn’t a chapter of NOW name itself after Lorena Bobbitt?
Another government employee thinking they deserve a job for life?
Anyone notice there is no such thing as "tenure" in the real world private sector?
