"Now, two weeks before publication of "No Apology: The Case for American Greatness," Romney is pivoting again -- this time pitching himself as a problem solver whose background as a successful financier makes him the ideal candidate to rescue the ailing U.S. economy.
But the real problem, said the paper, is "the real Mitt Romney Harvard MBA, political scion, hard-working businessman, super-wealthy master of Wall Street offerings, devout Mormon might not be what Republican primary voters actually want."

So your contention that fundy bigots founded this nation does a great disservice to people who really founded this country, many of whom were driven to do so by the 17th century version of fundy bigots such as King Charles I, Lord Berkeley and Archbishop William Laud.
Yes, some of them tried to replicate their narrow version of religion in the new world and made outsiders extremely unwelcome.
But that very process started colonies like Rhode Island (Roger Williams, John Crandall), Pennsylvania (a haven for Quakers, Jews and other misfits from the New England colonies), Maryland (a haven for Catholics for the same reason), etc.
So if our nation's founders were really fundy bigots, explain why they specifically prohinited the establishment of a state church on the national level.
I have no problem with Jim Robinson's statement. I have plenty of problems with fundy bigots who prefer to spend their energies here lambasting Mormons, Catholics or any other group which doesn't fit their narrow definition of Christianity.
The generations that destroyed America? The generations that did all the destruction from the 1930s to about 1980, the generations of the Kennedys and George McGovern and Jane Fonda and Vietnam and welfare and taking away gun rights and turning us into a third world country with the 1965 Immigration Act?
Actually as they started dying out, we started regaining control of things, although because of the immigration that they signed into to law, it is really too late.
Actually, Paul Ryan knows how to fix the ailing ecomony and Srah Palin has already named him.
The man is a Dem-lite loser.
Whitman/Romney...Coca-Cola..to the “Bammy Pepsi....honestly...the same restaurant..different flavors.
The Oligarchy...they don’t get it. I hope they all burn big bucks...
If you look at the 11 men that were with Roger Williams, you will find my family.
It looks like you are reverting back to the Romneybot strategy of turning every Romney thread into a “Mormon” thread, I guess the quickest way for you guys to do that is to attack the faithful conservatives that made the country, make up conservatism and makeup freerepublic.
It looks like the Romney threads are back.
Please, spare us another campaign, Romney.
There is nothing funnier to me than a Pro-Romney or Anti-Romney thread at Free Republic.
Why?
I could spend all day laughing at the keywords as they go on and on........LOL
I do like Paul Ryan- but I also remember he panicked and voted for TARP- I forgive no one for that. I think he voted for the auto bailout too...a lot of our guys SOUND good..but...
GOOD!
My free premium channels on Direct TV run out the end of the month and I need some new entertainment and Mittbot pinatas are right up my alley...
This guy has more faces than Dr. Who.
Even a pickup truck and Cosmo spread could not save Mitt.
LOL!
Great post!
Although I’ll be cursing you throughout the day when I can’t cleanse my brain from that mental image ;)
The problem with Romney and his family tradition, is that their real interest in America, is defeating conservatism.
I didn’t think anyone in the House voted for TARP. My memory must be failing with age. :)
He did vote for vote YES on $15B bailout for GM and Chrysler, (Dec 2008) since he represents Jaynesville, WI.
ROTFLOL.
Dole III, this time with better hair.
Not everyone hates Romney because of his religion. A good many do which I think is a tragedy because it is a distraction from the real issue.
I supported Mitt in 2008 after Fred Thompson dropped out simply because there was no better option remaining.
I won't support him in 2012 because (1)I don't think "Massachusetts Style Health Care won't bankrupt the country quite as fast as Obama Care" is a particularly winning slogan and (2)there are clearly better candidates in the race, especially a former Alaska governor.
I have no idea whether your reasons for opposing Romney are mainly due to his religion. I can honestly say mine do not.
But I will also observe that tossing around insults like "Romneybot" are not particularly helpful in winning over some of the very people we need to end the reign of King Barack.
I can understand the auto vote- though I hated the whole bill, but the TARP vote was a major disappointment for me with Ryan...I had high hopes for him. He’s very bright and personable.
I’m rigid on just a few things- government bailouts is one of them and TARP was a national disgrace in my mind and anyone who voted for it should be ashamed of themselves.
Right, from the guy that attacked freerepublic as fundy bigots.
We have been dealing with you and the other romneybots for a few years now, these guerilla tactics seem to be the way that you guys choose to battle as you try and push that slime ball on the non receptive, audience here at freerepublic.
We are more than ready for you guys, let the games begin.
