But I will also observe that tossing around insults like "Romneybot" are not particularly helpful in winning over some of the very people we need to end the reign of King Barack.

Right, from the guy that attacked freerepublic as “fundy bigots”.

We have been dealing with you and the other romneybots for a few years now, these guerilla tactics seem to be the way that you guys choose to battle as you try and push that slime ball on the non receptive, audience here at freerepublic.

We are more than ready for you guys, let the games begin.

I don't think you even read my post. If you did, you are certainly attributing intentions to it which I've never had. "Fundy bigots" cover a very narrow spectrum of extreme fundamentalists who think anyone who doesn't subscribe to their narrow definition of Christianity as destined for hell. Especially Mormons, but also Catholics and anyone outside of their narrow little circle. Most genuine Christians and many fundamentalists are embarrassed by them.

But since you are so smart, maybe you can tell us how we can cobble together a 51% majority by:

  1. Pi**ing on the 2% of our otherwise conservative voting population which is Mormon.
  2. Doing the same to about 10 times that number who is Catholic or otherwise Judeo-Christian conservative and feels they aren't that far behind on the target list.
  3. Insulting the economic conservatives (including many RINOs) who thought Mitt was the best choice (at least of those remaining) in 2008.

Vig-man grandly takes on an "above it" approach and tries to appeal to Ans, saying he doesn't think everyone "hates" Romney because of his religion, though "a good many do" but not he himself; then tries to build a bridge saying that he, too, like Ans, is descended from Rhode Islands' Roger Williams, and adds: "But I will also observe that tossing around insults like "Romneybot" are not particularly helpful in winning over some of the very people we need to end the reign of King Barack."

Ans shoots back and scores dead on: "Right, from the guy that attacked freerepublic as “fundy bigots”.

Atta boy, Ans! I think your radar is pretty sharp at catching stealth Romney supporters, as I have a hunch Vig-man is. I may be wrong, and don't have time to do an "in forum" research to see what he's posted in the past in OBJECTION to Romney's politics, but his posts here sure looked to me like a Mormon bigot victicrat. I read the Romney threads regularly, and the number of times I've seen Romney bashers (I am proudly among them) object to Romney because he's a Mormon, can be counted on one hand. Like me, most who aggressively oppose Romney do so on the basis that he's a Trojan horse to Republican principle; it's his big government philosophy I object to -- I don't give a rusty rat's patoot about his religion, and neither does the VAST majority of Romney opponents on this forum. (By the way, why is it bad to call someone a "Romney bot" but okay to call someone who opposes Romney a "Romney hater"?)

Likewise, the number of times I've seen Romney supporters claim that Romney "haters" (a word chosen expressly to imply irrational dislike for the man) only object to Romney because he's a Mormon, I'd have to use a super-computer to tally.
