All fundies are not bigots and all bigots are not fundys.

So your contention that fundy bigots founded this nation does a great disservice to people who really founded this country, many of whom were driven to do so by the 17th century version of fundy bigots such as King Charles I, Lord Berkeley and Archbishop William Laud.

Yes, some of them tried to replicate their narrow version of religion in the new world and made outsiders extremely unwelcome.

But that very process started colonies like Rhode Island (Roger Williams, John Crandall), Pennsylvania (a haven for Quakers, Jews and other misfits from the New England colonies), Maryland (a haven for Catholics for the same reason), etc.

So if our nation's founders were really fundy bigots, explain why they specifically prohinited the establishment of a state church on the national level.

I have no problem with Jim Robinson's statement. I have plenty of problems with fundy bigots who prefer to spend their energies here lambasting Mormons, Catholics or any other group which doesn't fit their narrow definition of Christianity.

If you look at the 11 men that were with Roger Williams, you will find my family.

It looks like you are reverting back to the Romneybot strategy of turning every Romney thread into a “Mormon” thread, I guess the quickest way for you guys to do that is to attack the faithful conservatives that made the country, make up conservatism and makeup freerepublic.

It looks like the Romney threads are back.
