Hey, I admitted to chuckling over it, and I’m a female — however, going from a chuckle to some outrage over victimization of women like Susan did is just ridiculous! Then again I always had more “guy friends” than “girl friends” - totally a tom boy here! Maybe that explains why I laughed? :)
Wow #13—————When I look at that picture I dont think of that wearing a Kotex, I think more of it wearing a muzzle.
If Muslim women all looked like that I could understand the requirement to hide their faces.
I can’t believe that was 22 years ago!!! Now you’ve made me feel old, too! LOL
I had a similar thought when it was introduced...The iPad, now with wings!
Hey PJ. If Suzie buys one, will it have a little string attached?
(Photoshop idea...)
Well, this is bloody ridiculous!
>So the IBM Thinkpad was also the result of poor diversity?<
Of course. But the “Thinkpad” is a PC, so the PC loon Estrich ignores it.
I-Tux?
I don’t like the B-tch. But, I have to admit. She might have a point. I have to bet that if you’d turned things around and all those company execs had been...Janice, Jane, Elizabeth, Maryanne, etc... - that the thought might have crossed their minds about naming the product “iPad”.
It's a hilarious clip, you've got to admit....
Sorry, that name’s been in use for iPod covers for years.
Someone’s way ahead of you on that one -
search youtube for “ipon”.
Doesn't matter, the product won't last. And I doubt they'll be dumb enough to come out with IPad 2.0 ...they'll rebrand it, or something.
I'd argue that if there was MORE diversity in the room, they'd not have invented the IPad at all. I own a lot of Apple shares, and I want the best and brightest possible people running the company, not a bunch of arbitrary people chosen solely on skin color or which bathroom they use.
I was reminded of the iPon fake ad that came out a few years ago making fun of Apple’ iFixation. Not quite thinking iKotex but pretty close.
Making fun of Apple potential/new Apple products is as common as making fun of the BSOD in Windows. Just the Apple fans get a little more upset...;)
I saw a perfect example of this at the Museum of Natural History in NY not too long ago.
They had wonderful art exhibits from the Renaissance. Fantastic gilded tapestries (dating from the 1200s, I think), paintings, etc etc etc. Just one marvel after another.
Then, I went to the "African Collection". A "special African Art Exhibit" on loan from somewhere or other. Apparently, it was supposed to be a pretty big deal....
It wasn't. It consisted of a bunch of crudely dyed wooden masks and a talisman that was some feathers stuck on a stick.
'Tis un-PC for me to notice such things, but I just can't equate Michelangelo to something that looks like a pre-school art project gone wrong.
