Why I'm speaking at Tea Party convention - By Sarah Palin

Posted on 02/02/2010 2:47:21 PM PST by RED SOUTH

The soul of the Tea Party is the people who belong to it — everyday Americans who grow our food, run our small businesses, teach our children how to read, serve the less fortunate and fight our wars. They're folks in small towns and cities across this nation who saw what was happening to our country and decided to get involved. Thank God for them. Many of these good Americans had never been involved in their government before, but now they attend town hall meetings and participate in online forums. They write letters to the editor. They sign up to be precinct leaders and run for local office and support other independent patriots. They have the courage to stand up and speak out.

And where did you find THIS little gem. Your local "hate Palin" site?? I note you provide zero actual evidence to substantiate your quote, like a LINK.

I repeat.....MORON!

You people really are, as Mr. Tull so famously observed, thick as a brick.

Because I point out the obvious, you seeth and froth and decide I am from DU and love the Clintons (neither is true).

I am neither troll, liberal, or anything I stand accused of here in this thread, but it is so much easier for you, the weak of mind, to turn on me than to see the obvious problem of believing someone’s statement because you want to, as opposed to examining the facts at hand and having, at least, a drop of suspicion.

The fact is that I couldn’t care any less what she does. When it turns out to be true, I won’t even come back to say ‘I told you so’. If it turns out that I was incorrect, I will be happy that she did what she said, but I will still scratch my head at why she would voluntarily incur an extra tax burden for herself - it’s like adding the Treasury to the list of charities she is planning on contributing to.

The thing that should be bothering all of you is not me or what I say, but the situation wherein you blindly believe what she says when you would not blindly believe what, say, the Clintons would say, or Bush, or any given other politician. It is that blind trust that will be used against you somewhere down the road. It’s politics, after all.

See also, the commentary HERE:

“Who says women cannot lead?”

No one. God says women should not lead because it is the responsibility of men. He obviously created women with many talents for the ministry He apointed them to. God is not too small, he is far bigger than we can ever get our minds around. The feminized version embraced by much of the church is quite small however, made in the image of man.

You mentioned prayer? As stated Sarah is/was a Gift from God!

The Dems know who is the most Christian of all the candidates, that`s why they hate Sarah so much. Sarah is the Dems biggest nightmare, that`s why they have targeted her over all others. Surely you do not want to work with them?

Concernin Debra, this is from the article I sent you the link to, which you must have missed. It is exactly the problem, we have feminized the church far more effectively than NOW ever could have.
“The example of the prophetess Deborah, though set in a time of more severe judgment than ours, gives interesting insights. She was living in a time when “the children of Israel again did evil in the sight of the Lord” (Judges 4:1), “Village life ceased” (Judges 5:7), and the leaders had not been leading (Judges 5:2). Despite the desperation of the time, Deborah clearly did not become a civil magistrate or “judge” in the modern sense of the word, nor did she run for any kind of office, nor did she sit in the gates (Judges 4:5). Even when pushed toward positions of leadership, Deborah never actually took the reins of authority, but rather extended them to Barak and stood supportively behind him (Judges 4:6, 4:14). Deborah succeeded in bringing a man into leadership, rather than take the leadership herself.”

Ah, which brings us to the crux of the problem. Mitt was a lesser evil than McCain. Sarah, if she had been running as President, would have been a lesser evil than both of them. I was wrong to have supported Romney instead of trusting God and voting for the candidate who would best honor God’s ministry as a civil magistrate. I am prayerfully trying not to do that again and am well aware that as I speak out it will bring on tons of criticism. But I must follow the Word of God rather than attempting to be pleasing to man.

You really are full of it.

You supported the non Christian, pro abortion, pro gay power Mitt Romney yet now you claim that that the conservative Governor Palin was a superior choice over Mitt and Senator John McCain, and you state that after you have just decided to initiate a personal crusade against her because she is a Christian woman and a conservative.

You decide to become a troll on the political pages instead of putting your religious attacks in religion and you think that as a troll ( a troll that until now rarely posted by the way) that you might receive some criticism, I imagine that you will.

Please post your short list of your preferences for best all around conservative candidate for president in 2012.

Here’s mine:

She’s already stated that she will be donating that money, but thanks for playing.

The Tea Party guys have very shallow pockets, they had to borrow to raise the first payment on her fee. Asking to be paid to speak there puts a burden on the movement no matter what she says are her intentions concerning the payment.

A much more supportive move would be to speak gratis and let the movement use its limited funds for growth. But, as another freeper noted, getting $100k this time leads to bigger paydays down the road.

I have noticed that several of you call anyone a troll that does not blindly support Sarah. It is an interesting tactic. Other than that, it seems you were not able to grasp my point.

And you think this crap constitutes proof??

Here is the whole story: The Alaska Supreme Court UNANIMOUSLY found it contrary to the Alaska State Constitution to deny equal benefits to gay partners. The legislature attempted to over-ride by passing a bill. Palin RIGHTFULLY vetoed it, believing that the only legally legitimate way to over-ride the judges was an amendment to the state constitution.

Here is the part your "source" conveniently leaves out:

"Palin reiterated her opposition to benefits for same-sex partners, and hopes the public vote will persuade legislators to vote for a constitutional amendment barring them."

Funny, what I see is a Romneybot fella that has decided to go on an anti Palin crusade using the religious angle.

A Romneybot guy that for almost 5 and a half years barely posted, but now that he can go after a Christian, conservative woman, he decides that now God wants him to crusade against her.

How do you know she asked to be paid?

And, the organizers didn’t “have to” do anything. Looks to me like they chose to have a convention. There are tea party gatherings all over the nation where the speakers don’t cost a dime that folks can choose to go to.

They are charging a fee to attend so I am sure the money will come out of that, not out of some big fund raiser. If you don’t want to pay, don’t go. Simple enough.

To listen to some folks, you’d think Sarah put a gun to the tea party organizer’s heads and said, first you WILL have a convention and second, you WILL pay me x amount of money.

“Gee, not one mention of her $100,000 speaking fee, I wonder why?”

“I will not benefit financially from speaking at this event. My only goal is to support the grassroots activists who are fighting for responsible, limited government — and our Constitution. In that spirit, any compensation for my appearance will go right back to the cause.

I agree that many in the leadership positions of our churches have been feminized.
And, it's not just in our churches. This problem has also infected the leadership of our schools, our military, our media -- and almost ALL of our society.
Perhaps God will punish our country for not having enough "real men" to lead us.

But is is difficult for me not to see His hand on Governor Palin's life -- including her POLTICAL life.

She certainly seems to me to be His chosen instrument for "such a time as this."
