First Lady Michelle Obama evinces no concern for the tens of millions of Americans suffering the consequences of her husband's failing economic policies as she is once again seen flaunting her Imelda Marcos taste in ridiculously expensive designer clothers.
Women's Wear Daily reported today that Michelle Obama wore a dress that retails for $1850 to the State of the Union address given by her husband, Barack Obama, on Wednesday night.
Last week, the White House featured as the 'photo of the day' a picture of Michelle Obama wearing a $2763 designer coat with matching dress of unknown cost and $850 custom made designer boots.
During the Obama's $4000 per day Christmas vacation, Michelle Obama was photographed wearing a $635 pair of designer shoes. A recent study of five pairs of designer shoes worn last year by Michelle Obama showed an average price of $700 per pair.
The dress worn by Michelle Obama to the State of the Union was bought by Obama from American designer Isaac Mizrahi, according to a spokeswoman for Mizrahi.
WWD describes the $1850 outfit as a "raisin-colored dress with a knit top and a silk ottoman skirt."

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Michelle and Barack Obama lectured the American people that they should sacrifice their lifestyles for the good of the country.
"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Barack Obama was quoted by AFP on May 16, 2008.
Byron York quoted Michelle Obama in the National Review on February 29, 2008, "Dont go into corporate America. You know, become teachers. Work for the community. Be social workers. Be a nurse. Those are the careers that we need, and were encouraging our young people to do that. But if you make that choice, as we did, to move out of the money-making industry into the helping industry, then your salaries respond.
A woman lucky enough to have a job in the Obama's 'helping industry' paying the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour would have to work about 255 hours before taxes to pay for Michelle Obama's State of the Union dress.
Awww, shucks....t'wernt nothin!
After all, I had "a lot" to work with!!!
Or maybe she was just “enthused” about her topic???
LOL!
If you look at the picture in Women’s Wear Daily, you will note that it is too small at the shoulders and too short-waisted. For that money, it should at least fit correctly. Still, I am always grateful when she appears without the boob belt or the too small sweaters.
But how much did her wig cost????????????????? I’ve always wondered what a good wig costs. Maybe one of these fashion rags will do a story on wigs.
Can you imagine if Laura Bush bought stuff like that during a recession?
Not only would they have crucified her, but they would have admitted how ugly it was.
Michelle has horrid taste. And all the magazines in the world saying she is fashionable won’t change that. It’s horrid. Since she wore the black widow spider dress I’ve never been convinced she had a fashionable bone in her body.
$1850, that is more than my morgage payment. Damn!

Who the hell does she think pays those salaries? The Salary fairy? You know, the fairy with the giant boob belt and magic bag O money?
My personal saying: “Some women can look like a million bucks on a hundred, but others can only look like a hundred bucks on a million” She’s in the latter category.
OK, I’ll say it ... didn’t we have something like this discussed when Palin was running around in some new duds?
Here’s an idea: why not get rid of the skin tight and now ill fitting clothes? Something a little looser and more flowing would cover a multitude of flaws.
That comment hit the nail on the head.
There is absolutely no way to make a silk purse out of a sow’s ear.
But I bet you didn’t buy sweaters three sizes too small or a boob belt.
Heheheh - maybe I could use a boob belt - they ain’t nearly as perky as they used to be ;-)
How does she get so light? Breach?
lol should have read, ‘bleach’.
