First Lady Michelle Obama evinces no concern for the tens of millions of Americans suffering the consequences of her husband's failing economic policies as she is once again seen flaunting her Imelda Marcos taste in ridiculously expensive designer clothers.
Women's Wear Daily reported today that Michelle Obama wore a dress that retails for $1850 to the State of the Union address given by her husband, Barack Obama, on Wednesday night.
Last week, the White House featured as the 'photo of the day' a picture of Michelle Obama wearing a $2763 designer coat with matching dress of unknown cost and $850 custom made designer boots.
During the Obama's $4000 per day Christmas vacation, Michelle Obama was photographed wearing a $635 pair of designer shoes. A recent study of five pairs of designer shoes worn last year by Michelle Obama showed an average price of $700 per pair.
The dress worn by Michelle Obama to the State of the Union was bought by Obama from American designer Isaac Mizrahi, according to a spokeswoman for Mizrahi.
WWD describes the $1850 outfit as a "raisin-colored dress with a knit top and a silk ottoman skirt."

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Michelle and Barack Obama lectured the American people that they should sacrifice their lifestyles for the good of the country.
"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Barack Obama was quoted by AFP on May 16, 2008.
Byron York quoted Michelle Obama in the National Review on February 29, 2008, "Dont go into corporate America. You know, become teachers. Work for the community. Be social workers. Be a nurse. Those are the careers that we need, and were encouraging our young people to do that. But if you make that choice, as we did, to move out of the money-making industry into the helping industry, then your salaries respond.
A woman lucky enough to have a job in the Obama's 'helping industry' paying the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour would have to work about 255 hours before taxes to pay for Michelle Obama's State of the Union dress.
Guess she doesn’t like the Banana Republic or Gap anymore?
I can’t imagine forking over 1850 bucks for an outfit that made me look like Grimace.
$1850 and it is still ugly? An ugly person can’t make an expensive dress look good.
$50 would have been too much for that little Raisin number. Whoever selected it, did her no favors.
Great, $1850 to look like crap!
Doesn’t this woman ever look in a mirror?
“Imelda Marcos taste”
LOL!
And BTW- who says the rich pay retail?
I remember Nancy Reagan getting slashed up and down for accepting “gifts”. is MeeShell gonna pay taxes on the consideration between what she pays (or receives) and what is the value of her wardrobe?
Are we the people paying for all this?
But if you make that choice, as we did, to move out of the money-making industry into the helping industry, then your salaries respond.

Wasnt she making $400,000 at the hospital ???
That aint an average income...
“Teachers” would love to make that much...
Back to the sty with ya!
It was $1850 for a size WL (Wide Load). Michelle’s obesity initiative should get her down to $1235 for a size L (Load) by the time of the next SOTU.
Well, as they say, ugly is to the bone.
She did once and didn't like what she saw.
We paid $1850 for that?
Those clothes probably have to be custom made to fit that ugly cow.
Listen,
as a well known fashion designer, I can tell you that making that woman look presentable is one tall order.
No I don’t think my dear friend Mizra quite pulled it off, but he didn’t maker her look that much worse either. We must be grateful for the small blessings too.
Oh, one last thing:
Honey, those people never pay retail. Never.
How dare the peasants question nobility!
That does not even look like a dress, much less $1850 worth of it.
Look on the bright side, folks. Her arms are (almost) covered.
Apparently she can't afford a bra.
