Sorry, I’m really pissed off about ShowBama’s treatment of the court and am yelling at everyone without justification. My apologies...
Well, for one thing, if you believe Orly Taitz’ account, we don’t even know whether the SCOTUS justices ever received an accurate description of the eligibility cases that they already supposedly ruled on.
Does anybody know how to do a FOIA request for the summaries that were given to the SCOTUS justices involving Donofrio, Berg, Wrotnowski, Taitz, etc? We know that Danny Bickel was screwing around, but are there documents that can prove exactly what the justices thought they were saying was too insignificant to even look at?
Could be Obama is trying to insert it into the record that the SCOTUS says foreign campaign contributions are legal so if the FEC would ever investigate the source of his funding he can say it’s legal.
No chance of that happening though. The FEC has openly said they don’t investigate the winner.

The death of all our watchdogs really, really needs to be grasped by the general public. And the attempt to tranquilize the few that remain (e.g. Gerald Walpin and the other 5? 6? Apology accepted. Perhaps “mentor” was a poor choice of words on my part; however, by Obama’s own admission, he is a student of Lincoln, and review of Obama’s speeches will reveal many similarities to Lincoln’s, in phraseology and choice of words. My point in the first place was that Obama, if pushed far enough, might use Lincoln’s proposed arrest of Taney as “precedent” against Alito ... God forbid. You and I are on the same page about Obama’s treatment of the court. No worries.

I only watched for a couple of minutes to see if the smirk was gone from his face. It wasn't. I can't stand to watch someone that is so full of them self and oblivious to reality.
Ruth Bader has had pancreatic cancer for a long time now. We once laughed at her falling asleep with her head on the desk - until we knew.
She looked so bad last night, could have retired long ago, so I wonder why she is holding off. Liberal as she is, could she see ominous things in Obama too?
Thanks for being gracious. It’s a good point about the threat to the justices, and it’s a fair historical analogy to Lincoln.
My main objection to the Lincoln-as-mentor thing stems from the fact that, regardless of one’s opinion of Lincoln and civil war-era politics, Lincoln had a respectable fear of the Almighty, and so even as he erred there was a humility about him, which might serve as a buffer against complete disaster. Obama has no such fear of any creator, as is clear from his words and actions, which makes sense given his arrogance and narcissism. Unfortunately this also seems to mean there is not the buffer against absolute disaster that I believe Lincoln had the benefit of. So even as Obama seeks to be as Lincoln, he seems to be missing the greatest thing about Lincoln.
Never have I had this visceral of a response to a political event as I have with his treatment of the court last night. His attack on the separation of (equal!) powers was astonishing, and unfortunately my disgust has flown out as a thoughtless bludgeon toward even friends. A character flaw.... I am grateful for the kindness of those around me despite that failing on my part.

Personally, I think the political mood might be right to re-examine the eligibility issue. (and Roe v. Wade)
Obama's arrogant tongue will dig his political grave and hopefully that of the entire Democratic Party. The American people are depending on the Supreme Court to overturn unfair, unConstitutional and unjust legislation and rulings. They are the only branch of government that has any credibility left, and here we have Obama treating them like scum in public.
I don't know what they'll do about it, but I hope they give us some change we can believe in!
The Justices ruled rightly. McCain-Feingold was blatantly unConstitutional. Public humiliation is what you get for supporting the Constitution these days. Now you know who does, and now you know who doesn't.

No matter the treatments, she can't be feeling well at all and I wondered why she endures ‘hanging on’ this way. She's a lib and knows he will put another lib in her place and when you become that sick, ‘power lust’ loses its luster.

I hope you are right, but I’m rather cynical. They watched as Obama has committed faux pas after faux pas, and don’t seem to care. D’s in congress stood and cheered as he attacked them, SCOTUS, and everyone else who is govt who isn’t him. They even stood and cheered when he said ‘screw congress I’ll do [whatever] with with an executive order’. He called them bupkis and they liked it?? I felt like I was watching a game show complete with applause signs and Stepford congress members.
There is something wrong there when the executive branch can just walk all over congress like that, even when they are shared by the same party they don’t usually put up with that.
They must have toked up on some pretty hard stuff before they got there! When Congress is in session, there are parties all night, every night. I read about that in former First Lady Betty Ford's autobiography. She stated unequivocably how easy it was for members of Congress (and their wives) to become addicted to alcohol, drugs and painkillers, with all that round-the-clock partying and lobbying.
IMHO Congress had it coming, however the Supreme Court Justices did not deserve that scorn.
