A 12-year-old Christian girl died on Friday as a result of physical violence inflicted by her employer, a rich and powerful Muslim lawyer in Lahore. The case has led to protests by the Christian community, which demonstrated before the provincial assembly of Punjab in Lahore. The authorities are trying to appease people and have pledged that justice shall be done. Pakistani President Zardari has also promised to pay compensation to the family.
A Protestant NGO, Sharing Life Ministry Life (SLMP), reported the case of Shazia Bashir, 12, who was employed for the past eight months as a domestic worker in the household of Chaudhry Muhammad Naeem, a lawyer and former president of the Lahore Bar Association.
Local Christians say that during that period the girl was the victim of constant harassment, and that she was raped and tortured before she was killed.
SLMP chief coordinator Sohail Johnson said the girl worked under constant stress and experienced emotional and psychological trauma. She was also denied the agreed salary (Rs 1,000 or about US$ 12 per month).
Shazia would get insults whenever she raised the subject of payment, the Christian activist said.
Three days before her death, her employer tortured her, he noted. Afterwards, he tried to have her treated at his home without informing the parents of her health situation. In the end, the medical care she did get proved inadequate and she had to go to Lahores Meo Hospital.

Initially, Chaudhry Muhammad Naeems family tried to pay off Shazias parents with Rs 20,000 (US$ 250) to stop them from filing a case against them. Eventually they fled, but were arrested yesterday under pressure from the federal government.

Heard this is also widespread in Saudi Arabia where many people from the Philippines go to work.
Rich, Powerful Muslim lawyer? Hates Christians, Jews, me and you?
OBAMA! Is that you?
Problem solved.
Question:....Why aren't we doing that in Afghanistan? Why aren't all our projectiles smeared with pig fat? Are we in a war or a game of tidily winks? Every Al Quida or Taliban should know they have been killed with pig greased weapons and their heads will be removed and fed to the hogs. We could be home in a month.
WHERE IS THE OUTRAGE from CHRISTIAN CHURCHES all over the world over THIS - AND the Treatment of the Copts, the Armenians, Nigerian Christians, Sudanese Christians, Malayian Christians and many others by the vile followers of Mohammad??????
They won't hear about it in the MSM and they won't hear about it from today's McChurch.
Pakistan has some fine people, but as a country, it is a backward, violent, chaotic and cunning place. The main contributor to that is Mohammedism. I would not trust a Paki businessman or politician as far as I could throw them.
While the rest of the world around them has made societal progress as regards tolerance, modern amenities, and the need for intentional comity in living together, these barbarians have trapped themselves in the Stone Age, murdering anyone who doesn't buy into thier psychotic pedophilic "prophet's" packet of poison sh*t.
The only reasonable cure to this disease called Islam is a total purge based upon the absolute principles self-defense and self-preservation. Into the shredder with the whole twisted, defective pile of them. As we sit here and type, they're wasting perfectly usable oxygen.
:-)
More evil. RIP.
These punk-a__ muslims just about make me lose my mind. Killing a girl!? I gotta take a break for a minute.
But they are still more beneficial to civilized society than IRS employees
Um... why on earth would a "Christian" parent put their daughter in this godforsaken position?
“...authorities are trying to appease people and have pledged that justice shall be done...”
Does that mean more Christian churches will burn?
Why would their parents let them work for such barbarians? Because powerful Muslim barbarians run the country, and the other choice is starvation.
Notice what it says about this guy: “Chaudhry Muhammad Naeem, a lawyer and former president of the Lahore Bar Association.” Not just a lawyer, but president of the bar association. Rich. Privileged. And Muslim. That’s how it is for Christians in many dominantly Muslim countries.
UMMM....the parents were ok with letting their 12 yr old LITTLE GIRL go work as a servant for this man? Maybe they should have kept her at home.
Well, yes, I imagine so. But then let’s call it what it really is — slavery — not “employed as domestic workers.”
Bingo!
Their 'god' IS NOT the God of Israel...Abraham, Issac or Jacob. Their god is a sun/moon god (can't recall which).
Not going to happen. This is a mostly Muslim country. The Christians are poor, and kept down by the government, in a semi-official manner.
The only two things that can be done in such a situation is to either resist, or become slaves. If you resist, it means you must employ eye for an eye, or worse violence. You still maintain the upper hand, if the violence is only directed at the criminals.
The idea is not to maintain the status quo, but to teach the oppressors to stop oppressing, or face possible consequences for their actions. Since most such people are cowardly bullies, when met with resistance, they tend to back off.
My guess is that the parents were very poor -- probably because the Christian father was restricted in his employment. It really is outrageous.
Christians in Egypt and Bethlehem and Syria and irag are brutalized and chased from one spot to another by the "religion of Peace". You have to admire their tenacity. There are only a handful of Christian families left in Bethlehem these days.
“How can they really say they are children of a patient, merciful God?”
They don’t. Their “allah” (satan) is hateful and pernicious. They never know what their ‘god’ is going to do one day to the next. Why would you assume that their god had the same characteristics as ours? You’ve unwittingly swallowed that premise.
