Rassmussen Poll ^

Indiana Senator Evan Bayh is another Democratic incumbent who could find himself in a tough reelection battle this fall. A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in the state finds that Bayh attracts support from just 44% or 45% of voters when matched against his top potential Republican challengers. Congressman Mike Pence is reportedly considering running against Bayh. At this time, he attracts 47% of the vote while Bayh picks up 44%.

I like Mike Pence a lot. I feel he is presidential material someday, but may not be ready just yet. Replacing Bayh would be a great way to start.

Evan Bayh is toast! Looks like Evan Bayh hung himself when he voted for Obamacare / Socialism / Universal Income Redistribution.

How the Dems would love to get rid of Bayh, who occasionally has a coherent thought, as opposed to most of his Dem colleagues.

Goodbye, Evan.

You kept trying to act conservative, but you're just as liberal as your father, Birch!

Evan’s father was defeated for reelection for being too liberal by Dan Quayle. Evan is the son of a Birch.

This is HUGE.
Micheal Barone may have to re-adjust his list of likely Republican US Senate pickjups. He rated Indiana at only a 37% chance of a pickup.

I think that’s exactly the case. And yet, just awhile ago, Bob Beckel was on Fox declaring the party line, that all Obama needs to regain his popularity is...HEALTH CARE LEGISLATION. Personally, I think if Obama and his merry band of crooks pushes that on the country, they’ll see lots of civil unrest until it’s declared unconstitutional and removed.

I can see where this could be a tough choice for Pence. Run against Bye or stay in the Congress. If the Pubbies take over the Congress he will most likely become speaker of the house, which is a far more powerful and important position than being a Senator.

I think if this new poll trend holds, whoever the candidate is will get money flowing into his coffures. He will also have the advantage of having a popular Governor helping him to win the election. Never underestimate the importance of that. Meanwhile ole’ Evan will still have to be in the Senate making votes on Obama’s initiatives. He can vote against them now, but he’s already voted for enough of them to tie him to Obama.

There is no way he would be Speaker of the House. Boehner is first in line and and Cantor is second in line.

Who would respect Mike Pence now if he shied away from a Senate Race with Bayh when Pence is the favorite?
