It started out innocently in a conversation with a well-connected Democrat friend who is now-disillusioned Obama voter.
We were discussing the Massachusetts election, and I joked that I didn’t know if the Democrats could stand another three years under Obama. He fired back that he and several of his friends didn’t know if they could stand ONE more year under Obama.
I posited that the only way it could happen that fast is if you could get him out of office on something like an eligibility issue, and that I couldn’t imagine any Democrat would ever become a “birther”!
There was a silence for a few moments and then he confided that “one might surprised at what is being whispered about by disillusioned members at high levels in the party”. He cut the conversation off at that point and we reverted back to small talk.
This all sounded so not credible to me, but you can never underestimate the Democrats’ desire to stay in power. The more I pondered his words, the more intriguing and perhaps terrifying the outcomes became.
Consider this scenario, the Democrats actually let “birther” investigations to go forward, publicly condemning the Republicans for pushing the issues, while quietly not impeding or even facilitating them . Two outcomes can happen. Obama is proven eligible and the Republicans are embarrassed and fall from public grace. Obama retains power and Democrats regain some public confidence.
Should Obama be removed from office, it becomes the ultimate opportunity to play the race card, because the still-“conservative” Supreme Court would have to “conspire” with the "racist" Republicans to force Obama’s departure from office. Democrats could swear Obama’s innocence, a repeat of the Lewinsky defense, in which Bill Clinton came out more powerful politically. The Democrats could raise the race issue with the Republicans until the end of recorded time for removing the first Black President from office.
At the precipice of their political comeback, the Republicans could fall hard! A Democrat "Rope a Dope"?
Admittedly this is a shameless self post, maybe I’m reading more into this than was really there. If you disagree, flame away, pull the post, and tell me to take my meds and go to my room.

Interesting point, but remember that there are several interpretations of “natural born citizen”, the dems would simply have clain that the agreed with their own interpretation, not the one of the “Right-wing racist supreme court”!

I wouldn’t bank on that. The bruthas are already massively disappointed in The One. As I anticipated, they did not turn out for him in MA.

There is an issue that people do not realize. Joe Biden and Nancy pelosi signed his certification process with the DNC. As well as Howard dean signed to, (which does not relate to the current leadership). Hilary Clinton would become defacto leader. There would be a constitutional crisis, whereby all issues decreed by Obama would be negated, TARP, Executive Orders, GM and Chrysler Bailouts?. Obama would be placed in a federal prison as wells as Biden and Pelosi, till the trial. there would be multiple civil suits brought against the democratic party, that would cause for the demise of the democratic party. It would not end the republic, but it would cause singificant distrust of the american political sysytem. George Soros would get involved and others whom are part of the CFR, Bilderberg Group and so forth
There is another option that you have not discussed and remember not even Rush, Beck or anyone else will bring up his elegibility so it would have to be brought up by Democrats. The Republicans will not take the hit on this.
What would probably happen is that the Democrats would use the CIA and the FBI and the State depart. to get the proof that he is not eligible or find out what he is hiding. Or allow his school records to be leaked to the media.
A group of them would take this info to him and use it to convince him to resign. He would suddenly get some type of illness that would not allow him to be around stress and he would bow out for the rest of his term.
The Democrats know that there is something in his background that at the least would highly embarrass the Democrats or at the most prove he was not eligible and they were responsible for allowing him to run anyway.
It could be something like Fraud:
The use of several names and social security numbers, which was illegal then and is still illegal today and never taking care of it legally so his real name is not what he ran as President with.
It could be something such as the lying to us during his campaign about his religion and relationships:
He was a member of the communist party and a practicing muslim until he arrived in Chicago and was never baptized in the Christian faith and is still a closet muslim.
He could be guilty of taking money under false pretenses:
He represented himself as a foreign student until he ran for the Senate. Getting scholarships because he was a foreigner and never paying income tax as a foreigner.
He could be ineligible and knew he was ineligible:
he could have been born in Kenya in which he knew before he ran for President that he was not eligible and ran anyway.
The Democrats have much more to lose if the truth comes out. The Republicans could hold them all responsible for putting our liberty and freedom in jeapordy by covering up fraud and illegalities. The Republicans and the tea party could bring a law suit against the Dem party and probably win.
I think it’s possible that Dear Leader’s own side will sacrifice him on the altar of their own self-preservation.
I don’t think this elaborate “birther” scheme—as you describe it—would do them any good.
No, they’ll have to take him down publicly in an impeachment proceeding. They have to do it themselves openly as a corrective measure in the hopes the electorate will forgive them putting him up in the first place.
I really believe it’s possible, nay plausible, these guys remember what prostituting themselves for the Clintons cost them. This is far worse.
Just remember, Bill Clinton committed the ultimate act of Sexual Harrassment...the world’s most powerful man having sex with the lowliest subordinate under his command, a 19 year old UNPAID INTERN.
The public should have been OUTRAGED at this, but they were drowned out by a orchestrated Democrat response that their interest was “all about sex”. The Democrats won under seemingly impossible odds by diverting attention from the bad deeds and focusing blame on the accusers.
Don’t underestimate them, this is what they are the absolute best at!

However Biden, Pelosi & Byrd are stupid & ineffective. No one really takes them seriously, especially Biden who is the ultimate buffoon. And Byrd looks like he is a walking corpse to begin with.

If there are any rational adults left in the Democrat Party-it would be an encouraged resignation for health or family reasons.

Then Biden choses Hillary as VP or Ed Rendell or Evan Bayh or
even Harold Ford, Jr .
Democrats could tip the political world upside down with this move.
But, to paraphrase Ann Coulter-you’ll need the jaws of life to pry Barry
( and Michelle ) out of the White House.
Every Democrat I know who voted for Barry now despises him for various reasons.
From he’s a Muslim to he’s not liberal enough to he’s a weirdo and a liar.
I assume that the usual suspects in the Republican Party ( McCain,
Graham , Collins, Snowe ) will give Barry a lifeline to help him save his presidency.
If it were President Biden - what if he chose someone like Sarah Palin as his VP?

I’ve thought about that myself and come to the realization that Clinton might very well come out smelling like a rose when it was all said and done.
How convenient.
That approach might work. Digging up a fatal amount of dirt on him and confronting him with it. Or surreptitiously releasing it bit by bit until a massive scandal has welled up.
Then making that pilgrimage to the Oval Office, like with Nixon, and telling him to his face that they will not stand by him in an impeachment.
Either way, he has got to go before November or the donkey party is kaput for the long haul.
Things are getting so bad with the economy and jobs that something very diabolical could pop at any minute. And you are right, Clinton (either Hillary OR Bill) might be seen as the savior.
