I have checked almost every news outlet on the web - to include Google News, Yahoo Answers, CBS.com, FOX.com, even NFL.com itself - and NONE of them will tell me the true starting times of the games today.
I know that they do this to try to maximize their Nielsen ratings for as long a time period as possible, but the level of deceit, duplicity, disingenousness and societal thought control in this unified front of media dishonesty is absolutely infuriating to me.
For instance, look at this screen capture from nfl.com:

From massive googling, I am led to believe that CBS's coverage of the Jets-Colts game today MIGHT start at around 3:00PM, but if I tune in at 3:00PM [or set the DVR to start recording at 3:00PM], then will the kickoff be within the next five minutes, or am I going to be subjected to 45 minutes of mindless, idiotic, sychophantic blather, and crass, disgusting, materialistic commercials before the players actually take the field?
God, this is infuriating.

It might be closer to 15, but really why is this worth getting upset about.
You don't want to watch that stuff before the game, but you don't mind watching all of it during the game?
There is only about 10 min. of actual play time in a 3 hour football game. The rest of it is the players standing around and mindless, idiotic, sychophantic blather, and crass, disgusting, materialistic commercials.
I start the TIVO at 3:00 but don’t start watching till about 4:00. Then I can fast forward through all the talking before and during the game and watch it in 2 hours.
These 'screamers' have never heard the National Anthem sung as written so they style it like they are trying out for American Idol. What a disgraceful treatment of the National Anthem.

On the same subject: At dinner last night at my sisters home I began listing the aspects Obozo’s education and personal history that are not available to public scrutiny and my(52 yr old)sister interrupted me with : “Wait a minute, if all of that is true why don't I know about it”!!?

I used to have season tickets for a certain Ohio NFL team when I was in high school.
I haven’t intentionally watched an NFL, MLB, or NBA game in about 10 years. I am so sick of those a$$hole players and their antics on and off the field. Scroomall.
And I don’t feel I am missing a thing. If someone asks me what I thought of the game, I just tell them I am sick of the NFL and don’t watch (or listen) anymore. They usually say, “Oh.” Or they say, “Yeah, I know what you mean.”
Don't feel bad. You wouldn't have won much. I'm broke.
