After spending five months pondering a fat stack of TV offers, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has signed a multiyear deal with Fox News to serve as a contributor across all Fox News platforms.
I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News, Palin said in the Fox announcement. Its wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news.
Palin, often described as having the hottest brand in American politics after President Barack Obama, was eagerly courted by both cable and broadcast networks, starting the day she announced she was leaving the Alaska governorship.
Bill Shine, Fox News executive vice president of programming, Gov. Palin has captivated everyone on both sides of the political spectrum and we are excited to add her dynamic voice to the Fox News lineup.
Fox said Palin will provide political commentary and analysis for Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, FoxNews.com and Fox News-produced special event political programming for Fox Broadcasting.
Palin will also host periodic episodes of Fox News Real American Stories, a series exploring inspirational real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape that will debut in 2010, the network said.
The Fox announcement continued: Gov. Palin is the author of the current No. 1 New York Times best-seller, Going Rogue: An American Life. Her book tour to over 30 cities attracted thousands of people and extensive media coverage.
Palin was the first woman to serve as governor of Alaska. She was sworn in as the 11th governor of the state in 2006 and worked on improving resource development, education, health and transportation and infrastructure development.
In August 2008, then Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain selected Gov. Palin to run as his vice presidential candidate.
Prior to holding the office of governor, Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council in Alaska as well as two terms as the mayor and manager of Wasilla and worked as an oil and gas industry regulator.
Well, that settles it. If she has two best sellers, she’s a shoo-in! ;0)
I dont think she wants to be president..and I dont think she should run.
I personally wouldnt want to see this woman torn apart by the wicked media, like she was before. Not only her, but her whole family.
There are those who really like her and those who dont. I dont think she could win against the dems...not because of her, but because of what they do to her.
What time is it now ?
;)
Palin vs the Huckster. Interesting and welcomed! You betcha!!!!
More reason for the American public NOT to view CBS, NBC and MSNBC.
I can’t wait to see the ratings for any program that Palin is on. I’ll watch any program she is on.
I think that it is a given that she will beat MSNBC and CNN in the ratings. What I would really like to see is Sarah get more viewers than CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. That would be tough since CBS is over the air network and FOX News is just on cable. But it would be sweet if it happen.
Benefit? To drive the left, ala V.P. Cheney, even crazier!
It's quite simple.
Being a contributor allows her to give her insight to today's issues and mold her platform if she chooses to run for President.
This has thrown her enemies off-balance - again. Now they back to worrying about whether or not she's going to run for President. Palin is keeping them guessing.
She was doing that well before. This just seems like a waste of talent.
She already has 16 years of political experience under her belt.
Why does she need to go to Congress and just be one of hundreds of lawmakers?
I somehow have a feeling that’s THE
last place Katie would ever be .. LOL.
;)
And what you make you think not?
Did you read the articles? It’s commentary and special pieces only, its gets herself on the most popular news channel on issues beyond facebook.
All that she has said about plans for the 2010 election and a new political group coming soon points to the other direction..where have you been?
Public exposure. I really think she could build a reputation there first. Yes, she was a governor, but until recently she really wasn't that well known outside of Alaska.
The press has and will continue to try and destroy her in her capacity now, and I think she could really build a strong backing in Congress first. I mean as it stands now there are more libs, minorities and just those who wouldn't want a woman in the top position. There are just not enough of us to put her over the top. She needs to build a wider general appeal, which she doesn't have now IMO.
Brilliant!
Mega platform, mega outreach...
I read plenty. I dont think she is the person for the job.
Last time I looked, we were all entitled to our personal opinions. I dont think she can win.
Whether she runs or not, and when, has always been her call. Yes it would be disappointing if she didn’t in 2012, but I don’t see a lot of heads exploding here if she doesn’t.
We’ll see. The Lady has her own playbook now, and she does like to call audibles. :)
