After spending five months pondering a fat stack of TV offers, former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has signed a multiyear deal with Fox News to serve as a contributor across all Fox News platforms.
I am thrilled to be joining the great talent and management team at Fox News, Palin said in the Fox announcement. Its wonderful to be part of a place that so values fair and balanced news.
Palin, often described as having the hottest brand in American politics after President Barack Obama, was eagerly courted by both cable and broadcast networks, starting the day she announced she was leaving the Alaska governorship.
Bill Shine, Fox News executive vice president of programming, Gov. Palin has captivated everyone on both sides of the political spectrum and we are excited to add her dynamic voice to the Fox News lineup.
Fox said Palin will provide political commentary and analysis for Fox News Channel, Fox Business Network, FoxNews.com and Fox News-produced special event political programming for Fox Broadcasting.
Palin will also host periodic episodes of Fox News Real American Stories, a series exploring inspirational real-life tales of overcoming adversity throughout the American landscape that will debut in 2010, the network said.
The Fox announcement continued: Gov. Palin is the author of the current No. 1 New York Times best-seller, Going Rogue: An American Life. Her book tour to over 30 cities attracted thousands of people and extensive media coverage.
Palin was the first woman to serve as governor of Alaska. She was sworn in as the 11th governor of the state in 2006 and worked on improving resource development, education, health and transportation and infrastructure development.
In August 2008, then Republican presidential nominee Sen. John McCain selected Gov. Palin to run as his vice presidential candidate.
Prior to holding the office of governor, Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council in Alaska as well as two terms as the mayor and manager of Wasilla and worked as an oil and gas industry regulator.
~~PING!
Not sure what to make of this. Candidates for the presidential primaries will begin declaring about a year to fifteen months from now.
...watch the left start to chime,...see see she sold out her backers. (Little do they know)
I hope she does a show on exposing media bias.
Either way, the lefties are apoplectic over it already.
Here’s what one idiot wrote on the NYTimes blog:
“Is she going to contribute tips on how to spot Russians from Alaska or tips on how to shoot moose from helicopters? I can think of few people less qualified to contribute anything of import than Sarah Palin. Although lack of qualifications have never seemed to bother Fox News before.”
Do lefties get anymore ignorant?
BTW, Palin is a journalism major.
She’s more qualified than half the people at MSDNC or in the MSM
Let’s not forget Sarah Palin has some journalism experience too.
“In the fall of 1984, she transferred to the University of Idaho, where she majored in journalism with an emphasis in broadcast news.”

They’re so laughable and predictably
juvenile in their vitriol and snarkiness.
Thankfully, she’s more than tough enough
to withstand probably the most virulent
and hateful derangement syndrome we’ll
ever see to date.
LOL .. thinking now about Olbertheedgemann.
Lol, one of the best cartoons I’ve seen in a while.
See a young Sarah on TV news sports..

I think it’s a net-negative for a future run for the nomination. It’s likely that Fox will be the only network giving her fair coverage. Now that will be slightly tainted, due to this contract.
Of course it may be that she has no intention of running for POTUS in 2012 in which case, no problem. If it’s her most interesting job offer she should go for it.
I am starting to think she’s not running in 2012. That will make a lot of heads at Free Republic explode.
That is a terrific cartoon.
“Do lefties get anymore ignorant?”
YES, by leaps and bounds!!!!
Probably so, but I expect these media jobs cause most eventual candidates to declare later than they would have otherwise. That'll probably delay J. D. Hayworth several weeks or months if challenges Juan McCain.
