We've talked many times before (a few links are below the flag picture at the right) about the growing movement on the part of states to assert their sovereign powers as protected by the Tenth Amendment. In the context of discussions here, this comes down to states proposing (and in the cases of Montana and Tennessee, already passing) laws that would exempt firearms, ammunition, and firearms accessories manufactured in-state, and kept in-state, from federal regulation. This, as one might expect, doesn't sit well with the feds, and is being challenged. The BATFE, in the meantime, has already announced its intention of ignoring such laws.
That is not stopping more states from hopping on the state sovereignty bandwagon, with the lastest to do so being New Hampshire.
Pre-filed for the 2010 legislative session in New Hampshire, House Bill 1285 (HB1285) seeks to exempt firearms, firearm accessories, and ammunition manufactured in New Hampshire from federal law and regulation.
Don't call the Live Free or Die state a copycat, though--the New Hampshire bill contains a very interesting provision not (to my knowledge) seen in any of the other states' legislation.
"Any official, agent, or employee of the government of the United States, or employee of a corporation providing services to the government of the United States that enforces or attempts to enforce a act, order, law, statute, rule or regulation of the government of the United States upon a personal firearm, a firearm accessory, or ammunition that is manufactured commercially or privately in New Hampshire and that remains within the State of New Hampshire shall be guilty of a class B felony. (emphasis added)"
Hmm--I'm guessing that's not going to sit well with the BATFE, or the entire federal government, for that matter.

Please ~ping~ me to articles relating to the 10th Amendment/States Rights so I can engage the pinger.
I've stopped monitoring threads and unilaterally adding names to the ping list, so if you want on or off the list just say so.

Or just up it to "shoot on sight".
Not sure they'd fight it. The libs would LOVE to have a CC, and it would not be a good thing if they ended up controlling it.
I don't know. Go violate some civil rights in East Bumfuckistan or something. Who cares?
I was just going to make some remark about a surprise waiting for the BATF in NH and then read that about the class B felony! Ha ha ha. Ram it to the Feds.
Now THIS is “state sovereignty” -
any agent for the federal government who attempts to enforce any unconstitutional law within the boundaries of sovereign state X will be arrested and tried with a crime.
I didn’t figure this would come along quite yet, though it is a necessary component of state sovereignty.
They also need a clause stating that no court ruling to the contrary will be recognized if said court is not one made up of judges appointed by the governor of that state or elected by the people of that state.

> Sturm Ruger, among others, has major manufacturing
> facilities in NH.
Thompson Center Arms and Wilcox Industries are manufacturing guns in NH as well as Ruger, and SIG has a training academy in NH.
I guess NH may be a future move to state, although I would choose Texas.

A CC isn't needed. What is needed is We the people to get off our dead asses and force our servant government to adhere to the constitution as written.
One way to start is by getting rid of ALL unconstitutional agencies starting with these.
The test will be given for one day only. No pre-tests / sample tests.
The results will be posted in the local newspaper and internet.
The test will be prepared from amongst the people themselves. The people chosen to prepare the test must themselves take a test and get at least a passing grade of 85%. Every election a new batch of the people would be selected to make up another test.
All courts will be constitutional courts.
I love it.
While we could use all the conservatives we can get, NH is being overrun with communists fleeing the high taxes in Massachusetts in Vermont that they voted for.
Now they are voting for them here. It cost me twice as much to register my cars in 2009 as it did in 2007. My property taxes have more than doubled in 10 years.
Even worse, the commie busybodies are introducing legislation that attacks our rights to homeschool. In the last 10 years, NH went from being one of the most homeschool-friendly states to one of the most homeschool-hostile.
A piece of legislation will be acted on this year that will make NH the most restrictive state for homeschools. Even we are thinking about moving out.
But to WHERE?
Now they are voting for them here. It cost me twice as much to register my cars in 2009 as it did in 2007. My property taxes have more than doubled in 10 years.”
We are experiencing the same activity in Idaho. Our family just offered us 50 acres in Arkansas in a dry County. I've been edging towards the acreage - If one ever has the displeasure of a libtard or two moving on the same street- It can cause high blood pressure for sure!
Thank the union-controlled public schools for that...property taxes in 'tax-friendly' NH are astronomical. I may return to the south in the very near future...there is no 'upside' to life in New England.
L.O.L I've been day dreaming of 50 acres and raising these :}
> Thank the union-controlled public schools for that
Yes. A libtard recently told me that the schools just don’t have enough money. I repllied, “I’m gonna let you in on a little secret. No matter how much money you give them, it will never, ever be enough.”
We are being compelled by threat of lethal force to pay EVERY YEAR for a product that we don’t need, and don’t want, whose quality decreases every year while its cost increases every year.
We school our nine children at home to escape the drugs, sex, and communist indoctrination.
But we still have to pay for it.
No 'opt out' provisions there...and that's a damn shame.
