Baucus denounces video as ‘personal smear’

Sen. Max Baucus' office Monday denounced a widely viewed Internet video that suggested Baucus was drunk on the Senate floor last week, calling it an "untrue, personal smear" designed to attack Democrats' health-care reform legislation.
"This is beyond the pale, and this type of gutter politics has no place in the public sphere," said Baucus spokesman Ty Matsdorf.

Here's a link to a famous Brrrpkus ad clearly depicting his opponent (Taylor) as effeminate while accusing him of theft. I wonder why the accusation itself wasn't sufficient without trying to demean and embarrass him.

Did you see him before the video clip started when he was yelling at McCain, who was trying to leave the Senate chamber and Bacchus Baucus wouldn’t let him leave till he finished his tirade....that’s what caught my interest and then I watched the rest in amazement. Time for drug testing for Congress, I think.
