Sen. Max Baucus' office Monday denounced a widely viewed Internet video that suggested Baucus was drunk on the Senate floor last week, calling it an "untrue, personal smear" designed to attack Democrats' health-care reform legislation.
"This is beyond the pale, and this type of gutter politics has no place in the public sphere," said Baucus spokesman Ty Matsdorf.

At least 60 senators had to be bombed out of their minds to pass this train wreck.

I watched the video and I honestly couldn’t tell if he was drunk.
However, I could tell that his words claiming to have reached out to the Republicans and seeking bipartisanship were wholesale lies. So maybe claiming drunkedness is a good defense for his empty words.

I watched the video and I honestly couldnt tell if he was drunk. Yeah, now that you mention it, I guess it is not so easy to tell a drunk RAT from a sober one. Neither makes sense.
I still think he was punch drunk.
