US Federal Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday released hundreds of pages from files on Michael Jackson, revealing the agency assisted in the child molestation probes involving the late pop icon.
Responding to requests from various media organisations, the FBI issued more than 300 pages of documents relating to Jackson, who died in June at the age of 50 following an overdose of prescription drugs.
The documents contained no new information about Jackson's mysterious death, which is the subject of a criminal investigation targeting the singer's personal physician, Conrad Murray.
However the papers reveal information about a 1992 extortion plot involving a stalker who falsely claimed to be the son of notorious New York mobster John Gotti and threatened to kill Jackson.
Other papers related to the FBI's assistance in the investigations into Jackson stemming from 1993 and 2003 allegations of child sex abuse against the star.
Jackson was eventually acquitted of all charges at his 2005 "Trial of the Century" in California.
Another file meanwhile related to a 1995 request by a US Customs agent in Florida seeking analysis of a VHS videotape connected to Jackson to see if it contained child pornography.
Forensic specialists discovered that the tape labelled "Michael Jackson's Neverland Favorites An All Boy Anthology" was a "poor quality third or fourth generation recording."
It was not clear from the FBI documents what, if anything, could be seen on the tape.

Anything to distract from the Obamacare vote.
While I had my suspicions, I certainly would have liked more of a definitive finding regarding Jackson and children.
I honestly don’t know what to make of it, other than there seemed to be some very weird things taking place at Neverland.
Nice catch. That should push health care off the map for a few days.
If it doesn’t push it off the map, it will at least be an excuse to push it totally off of Jerry River’s show.
Why is the release of the JFK files taking so long?

“MICHAEL JACKSON
Investigative Files Released”

I thought Jerry covered little else than a full time defense of those poor illegal aliens we can’t get along without, but treat so meanly do to our misunderstanding about schools, health care, crime and the like.
FoxNews should come to it senses and cut him loose, so he can go full time for illegals.
“Michael Jackson’s Neverland Favorites An All Boy Anthology”
Yep, that sounds pretty condemning to me. Only a pedophile would create something such as this and for pedos, it doesn’t always have to be sexually explicit in nature to be a turn on to them.
The unpublished portion of those records was initially sealed for 75 years (to 2039) under a general National Archives policy that applied to all federal investigations by the executive branch of government,[2] a period “intended to serve as protection for innocent persons who could otherwise be damaged because of their relationship with participants in the case.[3] The 75-year rule no longer exists, supplanted by the Freedom of Information Act of 1966 and the JFK Records Act of 1992. By 1992, 98 percent of the Warren Commission records had been released to the public.[4] Six years later, at the conclusion of the Assassination Records Review Board’s work, all Warren Commission records, except those records that contained tax return information, were available to the public with redactions.[5] The remaining Kennedy assassination related documents are scheduled to be released to the public by 2017, twenty-five years after the passage of the JFK Records Act.[6]
Same here neighbor.
I never cared enough about MJ ( being one of those who loathes Pop "culture..." ) to pay much attention to him, until he died.
Then, I looked at his work, and I'll allow that he may have been a musical genius-- the man had a lot of talents.
That said, he was weird as Hell in his personal life.
Judgment, I reserve to a higher power, but I will say it's a shame the talent came to such a sorry end.
If he molested little lambs, I wonder if he is singing for Satan tonight?
Micheal Jackson died?
(Shh! Don't tell anyone! It clogs up the forum with vanities.)
Oddly enough, the trial of the previous century (OJ) was only ten years prior.
Michael who?
Too bad offing Brittany Murphy didn’t work to divert attention.
I view some of Jackson’s Thriller era work to be very good. What portion of that was his, and what portion of it expressed Sony or some other entity’s talented creativity, I don’t really know.
Here was a black kid who was very talented. I looked at him as a guy who had made a success of himself. As an adult at the time, I appreciated that, respected him.
Then his weird phase set in and he just turned hideous. It was sad to watch. The guy had to have had a mental disorder. There’s just no two ways about it.
Ultimately sad really. And possibly criminally bad.
